As they settled in the bat-cave, Bruce immediately told Eva to remove her pants to examine her wound.
As she removed her pants, Bruce couldn't help but take a peek- his eyes traveled from her ankles to her peach shaped butt.
When Bruce was caught looking, he raised his hands up in the air in surrender, "I couldn't help it."
Eva scoffed before sitting down on the cold metal table, "you're such a play boy."
Bruce pulled up a chair and leaned in, looking at the large letter F wound that was rather bloody- dried blood surrounded it too.
"Eva, I need you to explain." At Bruce's rough command, it slightly turned her on if she would be completely honest.
"You know? Its kinda a turn on when you speak to me like that."
Bruce tried his best to hold back his smirk, "Eva, please."
"And you beg, it's a turn on too."
"Ev-"
"Master Bruce, you called?" Alfred appeared with a tray of equipments that hid from Eva's view.
"Ah, Alfred, just in time." When Alfred set his eyes on Eva's bloody leg, immediately, he was beside Bruce examining it. "I need you to stitch it up, but it needs to be cleaned."
Alfred looked up at Eva's exhausted face with a comforting smile, "you better be grateful that I'm here miss Eva, master Bruce gets rather messy when it comes to cleaning up wounds."
"Oh, messy too, huh Bruce?" Eva teased again, Alfred was confused but only knew that he missed the plot.
Bruce yet again, tried not to smile. He crossed his arms on his chest and put his serious face on, "Jokes aside Ev, tell me how you got that."
"It was Frank."
How was Bruce not surprised at all? The letter F that was carved in her thigh was enough of a clue for Bruce to know it was Frank. Bruce's dark and beady eyes demanded Eva to continue and she did.
"The night we found Ashley's body was when he paid me a visit. He was in my room and he just gave me this lil' present before he left." It immediately made Bruce's blood boil. Why didn't he watch over her for at least a few hours before he went back home? He simply let her go home when he knew she was a target.
"Miss Eva, are you ready?" Alfred shook the bottle of hydrogen peroxide in his hand, the moment Eva nodded the butler didn't take his time- he instantly poured the liquid on the woman's thigh, making her wince slightly as her nails dug in her palms from squeezing too hard.
"Why didn't you tell me Eva?" Bruce spat.
"I didn't want to worry you." Eva realized how dark Bruce's face looked as his brows furrowed, his jaw was tight and she was just assuming he was clenching his teethes too hard.
"Worry me? Eva, you're in danger. You are his main target." Alfred raised a brow at Bruce's sudden loud tone that he used- Alfred instantly knew Bruce was worried and cared dearly for Eva but it was the wrong way to show it, but Bruce was bad at showing how he felt anyway.
"What do you want me to do? I can't just cower away all the time, I have to find him-"
It was as if Eva didn't even mutter a word when Bruce cut her off, "you're gonna stay in the Manor until we throw him in Arkham Asylum."
"But Veronica-"
"She's fine. Alfred sent her to a hotel- she'll be there for awhile." Bruce spoke coldly, instead of locking eyes with Eva, he watched Alfred delicately sew Eva's wound shut.
"Bruce, I'll be fine-"
"You are his main target!" Bruce's tone made Eva flinch and Alfred mad, "the Manor is safe, Eva. I'll be going to pick your stuff, anything specific you need?"
"You know he's targeting you too, right?" Eva's brows furrowed as she looked up at the man.
"It doesn't matter." Bruce growled deeply before leaving the bat-cave, grabbing his car keys on the way out and slammed the Manor door shut roughly on his way out.
"I'm sorry about master Bruce." Alfred said as his face was inches away from Eva's wound, he perfectly sewed the skin together, hoping that it wouldn't leave much of a scar behind.
"Bruce definitely needs to improve on his emotional crap that he piled up inside." Usually Alfred heard people complaining about how Bruce was heartless, he was quite surprised to hear that Eva, in a way was understanding, "hey, I get it. Really, but god! It still made me angry though."
A smile spread across Alfred's face at the woman's words, "you've lived long enough with him, you better start teaching me your secrets, Alfred."
When Bruce got home, duffle bags in each hand, Alfred was there to give him a sour face and Bruce instantly knew what it was about, "master Bruce, I suggest screaming at miss Eva is not the best option."
Bruce sighed, throwing himself down on the sofa as he massaged his temples, "I know, Alfred. I just...I'm not gonna let anything bad happen to her on my watch. But I let it, Frank mutilated her yesterday."
"She's worried about your safety too, even though you dress up as a big bat. But there are other ways to show your concern, master Bruce." Alfred said as he patted the man on the back, "there's some salmon in the oven if you're hungry." And just like that, the old butler left the young man on his own.
Bruce sighed but carried the bags and carried himself up the stairs, as he faced the room where Eva was in, he licked his lips and knocked the door with the tip of his shoe.
"Eva?"
Her muffled voice answered from behind the door, "Just a second."
A little click emitted and Eva revealed herself, her hair was wet and the white robe that was wrapped around her body obviously indicated that Alfred forced her to have a bath. Usually when Bruce had wounds like what Eva had currently, he'd always demand the man to have a nice and warm bath. It was like a ritual for Alfred, really.
"Alfred forced you to bathe?" Eva moved to the side to allow Bruce in, as he entered he closed the door with the heel of his shoe- settling the duffle bags on the floor.
"He was quite insisting, actually." Eva said, sitting on the bed and avoiding Bruce's gaze.
The man nodded and shoved his hands in his pants and when Eva took a good look at his attire she was rather surprised in a way.
She never really saw Bruce wearing anything but his suit, either that or he dressed up smart casual. His white shirt showed off the outline of his muscles, while his blue jeans hugged him perfectly- it wasn't too tight and wasn't too loose.
"Eva, about earlier-"
"You're sorry?" When Bruce locked eyes with Eva he saw a playful glint in her eyes but he was truly sorry and didn't take it as a joke, he nodded his head with his thin lips.
"I know you are." Eva got up from the bed and made her way to Bruce, brushing her fingers on his chest, "thanks for the stuff." Eva whispered before kissing him- licking his lower lip as she pushed Bruce, making him backwards and before he knew it, Eva opened the door and pushed him out.
"Goodnight." She said with a playful grin as she closed the door on his face, Bruce didn't know what to make of it, what was he supposed to feel?
As he sighed in frustration, about to walk away, Jason was leaned on his room doorway with a big smirk on his face, arms crossed on his chest.
"Girl trouble...Bruce?" Jason snickered as he jiggled his eyebrows making Bruce sigh once more as he stood awkwardly, "never thought I'd see that coming."
Bruce ignored the boy and made his way to his room with a loud sigh once again and threw himself on the bed like a broken hearted teenage girl.
