Chapter Fourty Three

Eva was right.

It was never this easy with the Joker.

While Batman commanded his team of sidekicks to wrack up the streets from Arkham Asylum's patients, the Joker got away and of course, batman went after him.

"Hey, you there Tigress?" Veronica's voice erupted from her ear piece.

"Everything okay?" Tigress immediately asked as her and Nightwing were combating the escaped inmates they were tracking down 20 minutes ago.

"Yeah- I just wanted to tell you that you shouldn't blame yourself about Steve's and-"

Tigress could hear the worry in her friend's voice but she couldn't help but feel irritated at the sudden concern. So immediately, she cut Veronica off harshly.

"Thanks for your concern, V. But I'd rather not talk about it." Tigress threw a hard punch, immediately the skinny man fell to the floor unconscious. Nightwing turned to face Tigress in astonishment but said nothing.

"Alright." Tigress sighed in exhaustion. "I think that's it for them."

"Yep, I'll, uh, contact the GCPD." Tigress gave a curt nod before assisting Nightwing in tying up the two unconscious Asylum patients.

Heaving, Tigress and Nightwing climbed on his motorbike and immediately, Nightwing revved up and zoomed away.

As he swerved between cars, a smile propped on Tigress' lips as she felt a sudden excitement when Gotham's cold air brushed thru her.

"I gotta get me one of these." Tigress said, causing Nightwing to smirk as he took a sharp turn.

"So." Tigress spoke louder beside Nightwing's ear, "how many more patients are we supposed to bring back?"

Nightwing brushed his finger over a button on his wrist and immediately, a hologram of data appeared.

"Around 40 more patients, I think we need to hurry up."

Before Tigress could let out a groan, suddenly their bike flipped.

Tigress let out a pained groaned as her body slammed on the floor and dribbled down the other side of the street.

She lifted her body up slowly by using her arms to push her up.

"You alright Wingy?" Tigress asked in a groan.

Nightwing, too, let out a pained groan as he stumbled on his feet, "I'm fine. You?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine." Tigress brushed him off. "Just what the hell was that about?"

"Dude, look- it was that." Nightwing and Tigress crouched down to investigate the sudden huge tree trunk that grew over the road.

Tigress and Nightwing noticed that it wasn't only them that almost broke their backs, other cars swerved and caused some accident.

Nightwing patted her forearm a couple of times, trying to get Tigress' attention, "hey, hey- I think it's coming from the botanical garden."

As Nightwing and Tigress walked thru the humongous maze of giant plants-which was extraordinary odd- they found an enormous purple flower in the middle of the botanical garden.

In the center of the flower, they realized there was a red head sitting luxuriously with a plant flowing down her arm.

"So, who does she go by? Crazy plant lady?" Tigress shut her eyes tightly as she let out the 100th sigh that day.

"That's Poison Ivy." Nightwing said, readying his eskrima sticks by his sides.

"Hey! Lady?" Tigress called out, immediately catching the attention of the plant lady. "We don't really have much time on our hands." Tigress pointed to herself and Nightwing. "So let's hurry this up, shall we?"

Tigress could feel Poison Ivy's glare burn right thru her as she raised her brows, uncrossing her legs.

"My babies told me you were coming." Her voice was calm and cool, alluring too.

"Ugh, this is a joke isn't? Please, Dick, tell me it is." Tigress pinched her nose.

"I wish I could tell you it was." Nightwing shrugged before he walked forward towards the giant purple flower. "C'mon let's make this quick, Ivy!"

"You asked for it, Bat-boy." Ivy's calm face turned cold as she furrowed her brows tightly- she turned her open palm to a fist and instantly, green giant stems broke out from the floor, charging for them.

"Oh, this is gonna be a long day." Tigress whispered to herself before one of the stems wrapped around her waist, crushingly.
