Chapter Twenty Two…
“Elle you look stunning!” I cried when I saw her walk out of the dressing room.
“God you must be nervous, I’m nervous!” Abby rambled.
As it turned out, there were only two bridesmaids. Myself, and the maid of honour, Abby. I found out that Abby and Elle had been best friends since they first met in nursery. They went to the same schools, the same university, and then started a business together.
“Abs, you’ll start me off! And you two look amazing, who chose those stunning bridesmaid dresses. Oh wait, that was me!” She giggled nervously.
“Michelle, darling can I see your gorgeous dress?”
“Of course Anya.”
“Wow, baby. You look, what do young people say these days, oh yes, awesome.” At that we all burst into hysterics.
“Abby, you look beautiful, is Mark coming?” Gizella smiled at Abby. Abby’s reply was a simple nod. “And WOW, Mollie you almost look better than the blushing bride here. Ryan is a lucky man.”
“Gizel-“ I started.
“I told you to call me Anya darling.”
“Anya,” I started again. “Did Ryan not tell you, we broke up about two weeks ago.”
She looked shocked. “No, the silly boy did not. I’ll be having a word with him, you’re too good a daughter-in-law to miss out on.”
“Aww Anya, thank you. Let’s focus on Elle; after all it’s her big day. Are you ready?”
“Almost, can you pass me the perfume?” I grabbed the Chanel No 5 that, her husband-to-be, Garrett had had delivered.
“Thanks Moll. Oh, by the way, you have to walk down the isle holding Ryan’s arm.”
“What?! Can I not go with Ben or Sam?”
“Sorry babe, Anya’s with Ben, Abby’s with Sam, I’m with Apa and that only leaves-“
“Ryan, I know. Fine, I’ll do it, just because it’s your big day, but I won’t enjoy it”
“Yay! Thank you Mollie!”
“He’s not going to enjoy it either Elle! Anyway, we need to get going; don’t want you to be late for your own wedding.”
“Oh yeah, I forgot we have to drive there!”
When we finally arrived at the church the guys were pacing outside. “We thought you ditched Garrett!”
“Chill guys, there was traffic, we’re here now.” Elle smirked.
“Isn’t the bride meant to be fashionably late?” I smiled.
“See,” She purposely looked at Ryan. “Mollie gets it.”
“Let’s get this show on the road.” Abby grinned.
“Ready?” I looked at Elle. She nodded, all signs of nervousness and apprehension gone. “Elle, you’re glowing, you look amazing!”
“Thanks Moll. Right, mum and Ben, then Mollie and Ryan, then Abby and Sam, and then Dad and I. Ok, lets do this.” She grinned, I quickly ran back and gave her a hug.
“Next time I hug you, you’ll be married!” I whispered excitedly in her ear.
“Go, shoo, you’re next!” She pushed me next to Ryan.
I glanced at him in his tuxedo. As much as I hated to admit it, he looked really good. A bit like Alex Pettyfer.
Ok, Mollie, chill, he’s your teacher, and your ex-boyfriend.
But everyone gets together at weddings right.
He’s looking at you weirdly. Stop staring!
“Ready?” He smiled down at me. People have said ready a lot today, huh.
Time to walk now dofus!
After my little internal argument I gingerly held out my arm for Ryan to hold. He did so immediately, and practically dragged me down the isle.
I smiled at the unfamiliar faces, and tried as hard as possible not to trip over and ruin the procession down the isle.
“Don’t worry Doll, I got you.” He whispered to me, with the most innocent look I had ever seen on his face. No smirk or anything. It surprised me so much that I broke into the widest grin. “Thanks.” I tried to control myself.
I couldn’t focus on anything after that, all I could think, see and hear was Ryan.
