Chapter Twenty Four

“Hey Moll.” I heard Tess from behind me. I turned round and saw my best friend looking angelic, in  a long white chiffon maxi dress, golden jewellery, nude pumps and her hair hanging loose and wavy around her shoulders. In her arms was little Jonah, wearing a white tee shirt, dark jeans and a tiny pair of navy converse.

“Hey Tess, hi JoJo!” I squealed.

“Mollie, your glowing, what happened at the wedding?” She laughed.

“You look different too, what’s up?” I grinned.

“I’ll tell you tonight, I don’t want to say it in front of my beautiful baby boy.”

“So, I was thinking of buying Marnie a laptop, a phone and an iPad. What do’ya think?”

“For her birthday? Yeah you should.”

“I was going to buy the iPad on my Dad’s card and get a custom case for it.”

“That sounds so pretty! What’s your mum and grandparents getting her?”

“I was going to buy a Chanel bag for them. They’re really outta luck this month. I don’t want Marnie to go without, and I don’t want them to feel bad. They’ll probably send her a couple of little things like makeup and jewellery as well.”

“Mollie, your so big hearted. No wonder everyone loves you.”

“Aww, Tess, everyone loves you too, Harvey is a truly lucky guy. I tell you if a was a boy.” I laughed, hugging my best friend.

“Jonah, cutie, you want to play a game?” Tess smiled down at her little boy as an employee walked over to help me.

“Hi.” I heard him from behind me.

“Benny-Boy!” I grinned hugging him.

“I thought it was you.”

“So?” He raised his eyebrows suggestively.

“Don’t, I haven’t told her yet.” I whispered.

“Oh. So you did?” I could only nod as a reply.

“So how can I help then Moll?” Benny smiled at me.

“I wanted to get Marnie a couple of things for her birthday.”

“Oh, when’s that?” He asked surprised. His family had kindly given me and Marnie presents for Christmas, and I could tell that Ben wanted to get her something for her birthday as well. She’d charmed their whole family, with her politeness and loving heart. She really didn’t deserve the upbringing she had.

“Two weeks.” I smiled.

“What does she want?”

“Jewellery, clothes, nail polish. No makeup or heels though.”

“Of course, don’t want our little angel growing up.”

“Haha, I want to throw her a family party, and one for her friends as well. So I was going to ask Ryan help me set up both, because you lot are her family, and I was going to get my mum and grandparents to fly over. And school, he’s my head of year and so Mr Harrison will actually listen to him.”

“Sounds great. I’m sure Anya will cook something for both occasions.”

“That would be amazing! And don’t tell Marnie, I want them both to be a surprise!”

“Ok. So what were you thinking of getting her?”

“A white iPhone 4S, a new iPad, and a laptop. But I wasn’t sure what one she would want. What one is harder to break?”
