Colleen: Finally the bitch wants to see me

My phone started to vibrate in my pocket. I reached for it and looked at the screen for a second at what it said. A text: "Meet me at the east side of the courtyard by the maple tree."

It was from a number that I didn't recognize. I looked over at JT who was sleeping. I couldn't tell him about the text. He would go all big and protective vampire boyfriend on me. I didn't bother to wake him.

I slipped out of bed and quickly left my dorm without a single sound. The hall reeked of those damn cigarettes. Someone is gonna be sick, if not dead. Why don't they just ban them from the school already? Oh, that's right. They can't. It's a college campus full of adults. That's very responsible. Are they not worried about peer pressure of the other students? Oh, that's right. They're not. It's a college campus full of adults. Lame.

I finally made it outside my building and away from the horrid stench of the cancer sticks. Fresh air. Finally..

The sweet November air tickled my insides. The sun disappeared under the Earth. The atmosphere was making me feel like a human again. I haven't been human in about almost a century and a half. It felt good to feel that again. It's good to know I haven't lost my humanity. Unlike Lily, I'm still half human. I still have a heartbeat, I still can have kids and I still can blend in with humans, just not during the daytime. Without my humanity, I'm just a monster. A bloodsucking monster. I like it.

I noticed a strong aroma of apples in the midst of the wind. A light bulb went on in my head. I knew she would come home to me. My little sister. My best friend. My Lily. Now, I can cuss her out and ask her where in the hell she's been, how come she didn't call me, text me, or see if I was okay. This bitch needs a serious talking to.

I turned my head toward the east side of the courtyard and indeed spotted a very old, very dark brown maple tree. It was standing alone in a bed of perfect green grass, tall and strong. This tree was in the middle of the large courtyard the school spend extra money to create. Money that the chem program needed more than anything. Our golden and out of date beakers and chemicals, screws up most of our experiments. Damn school, so fucking cheap.

I know she's here. I smell her. Her scent has never changed. She still smells like the same ole Lily. I hoped that she was the same ole Lily. I hoped she still had that same goofy smile and that same sweet personality. I just hoped. This is my first time dealing with an undead vampire and I have no fucking idea how much their personalities have changed. They might be a different person.

The tree wasn't too far away. One step, and I was there. Well what the hell is she waiting on? A welcome home party? Time for some serious answers.

I found my foot on the edge of the grass. I inhaled one good time and let her have it.

"Oh, so you're shy now?" I waited. "Where the hell have you been, Lily? You couldn't call me? Text me? You sent me that letter, but you couldn't tell me where you were? Some friend you are." I kicked at the grass with my foot, feeling stupid that I stayed friends with her.

Silence.

The light mist of the wind moved her scent closer to me. Her familiar brown hair emerged from behind the tree. My hair blew gracefully around me in a blond blanket of awesomeness. Slowly, her face peaked. It was as pale as mine. In fact, it was chalky white. After she took forever, her full figure was standing me face to face. Her legs and her torso was a lot thinner and slimmer than her normal full figured self. The structure of her jaw was so thin, she looked like she hadn't eaten in months. Her hair was still long and wildly curly brown. It fell over her heart shaped face as the wind blew. Her eyes were odd. They weren't red or indigo. They were black. She really is undead.
