Our own intervention

We were all back into my livingroom. Now, Phyllis has been added into the plan to bring Lily home. Ten hands are better than eight I guess. Phyllis is young, new and strong. She will be able to help us in the finding of Lily. I just wish she was there when we found out that Mark was with Lily the night she disappeared. He was there and nobody knew. He knew she was attacked, but never told anyone. Why keep it such a secret? What's there to hide?

Phyllis sat on the floor next to the armchair I sat in, knees close to her chest, and her rosy skin illuminating from the light above her. Her indigo eyes stared blankly at Colleen. Colleen curled underneath JT and slipped her eyes closed. Jayce sat on the arm of the chair while rubbing my back in a gentle, circular motion. That awkward silence.

It's just really hard to understand why Mark never mentioned Lily to any of us. Clearly, he knew that she was missing. How could he not?

Colleen finally woke up while we were all sitting and staring at her.

"Were you guys waiting on me?" She groaned and shifted to a comfortable position underneath JT.

"Yes we were, Sis." Phyllis said softly.

"Oh." She said.

"So, now everyone is awake, can we talk about what's happening here?" I said while holding on to Jayce's soft and warm hand.

"I'm confused myself." Jayce spoke out.

"Okay, well we already established that Lily is missing, she's undead and possibly on a rampage, and Uncle Mark knew that she was attacked, but didn't tell us."

"Yeah, speaking of that, why the hell didn't he tell us?" Colleen sounded like she was now wide awake.

"I don't know, cuz. All we can do is ask him."

"He's not gonna tell us a damn thing."

"I know, but we could try."

"What was up with that meeting at my house?" Colleen twirled her hair between her fingers. I knew the question was directed to Phyllis.

"Oh it was probably nothing. There was alot of tension in the room. No one was barely speaking. I think David doesn't really like your mom very much Steph."

My back straightened. "I know. They've been like that for years."

"Why? I thought werewolves and vampires got along."

"We do. I don't know what's up with them." I shrugged. "They are adults. They can handle themselves. It probably doesn't have anything to do with us."

"So, what did we learn so far, Steph?" Phyllis soft, innocent voice chimed in.

"We learned she set you up to turn so we could find you and bring you home with us. She's using you."

Phyllis's eyes widened. "Why?"

"To have you turn against us and kill us so she doesn't have to worry about us finding her."

"But I will never kill you guys. Especially not my big sister."

Colleen rolled her eyes.

"Be happy you have a sister, Colleen. I lost mine." Jayce had a tight, deathly grip on my hand. It was almost ghostly white.

Colleen shut her eyes tight and took in a deep, gangly breath. "I can't believe Lily would try and kill me. After all the crazy stuff we've been through. What made her this way?"

"I don't know, cuz. Power, rage, blood."

"Lily is still in there. I know she is. That wild and crazy Lily we're searching for now is just a cover up." Colleen's eyes were starting to tear. JT comforted his girlfriend. He pulled her close to his broad chest and let her lay her head on it. I think JT was just as hurt as Colleen was that Lily wanted to kill them. After all, she was his friend too. I'm glad that Lily's plan got spoiled and Phyllis became apart of our family.

"Maybe I could help." Phyllis said. All eyes shifted toward her.

"You could?" I asked.

She shrugged and gasped. "Yeah, I think so." She stared down at the floor with a frown.

"What can you do?"

"I can sniff her out."

"I already tried that." I said while gesturing my chin in the direction of the open letter on the table.

"No, I can sniff her out. Not her surroundings." She put the emphasis on the word 'her'.

"That makes sense." JT mumbled through Colleen's hair.

"You're not a werewolf to have that kind of ability, but you're close enough." I said.

"Exactly. So, can I?"

I nodded.

"Okay, well I would need something with her scent on it."

"Her dorm." Colleen lifted her head.

"Take me there." Phyllis smiled.
