Unstoppable

Chapter 6

"How do we know who they say they are?" Adapta asks looking around at everyone.

"We need to check" Damian states, he is thinking of a way to show them his powers without hurting anyone. He asks himself if he should even care, they have been bugging him about it they should feel it.

"Zwell, I am myself" Changling says her body shifting into a small bird. She turns back into her normal form. She receives a nod of confirmation from the rest of the group.

"I'm myself" Hydro says a water ball forming in his hand, he lets it dissolve to nothing but gets a nod of confirmation from everyone, meanwhile Damian is still attempting to figure out how to show his power.

"What about you?" Damian asks Adapta shooting her a precautionary look. Adapta nods and closes her eyes she allows her skin to be covered with a shiny orange type of scales. She receives looks of confusment, can't she only turn into things she had touched.

"Adapta did your grope a fish?" Damian asks

"What the fuck" She replies turning back into skin.

"Your turn" She says to him matter of factly. Damian shakes his head slightly trying to put his demonstration as long as he can.

"I already told you my power is too dangerous to show off, what about your girlfriend?" He shoots her eyes flash a bright orange.

"She's herself, she wouldn't be wearing her headphones if she wasn't." Hydro says defensively.

"If you don't have to show your powers because it could 'hurt someone' she shouldn't have to show hers, she is dangerous." Adapta says folding her arms across her chest and glaring at Damian, he felt the eyes of all of his teammates. He sighs and shakes his head, he done protecting these people. He doesn't even like most of them why refrain from hurting them any further? He looks to Ignite focusing on her eyes. He has been wanting to get into her head anyway.

"Aaaaaaagh!" Ignite yells startling the everyone. Her hands move to her headphones throwing them off and screaming her hands now covering her ears. She squeezes her eyes shut and falls down to her knees. Everyone except Damian, who hasn't broken his connection, was frantic trying to find out what is happening.

"Hydro what is happening?" Adapta asks in horror flames were coming out of Ignite in all different ways as she yells in agony.

"I don't know" He answers kneeling next to her as close as he dares. She falls down on the floor on her back and groans almost a cry in pain, she has taken her hands off of her head and moves them to crosses them to be the opposing arm, sending her nails into her skin.

"Hydro it hurts!!" She cries he looks around frantically for the source. Sparks and flames are still bouncing out of her.

"You" Hydro says glaring daggers at Damian.

"Hey hey you told me to show my power well here it is" Damian says putting his hands up defensively.

"So you show it on the one person here who can't handle it?" Hydro asks almost shouting.

"That's a normal reaction! Well okay the yelling in pain, the clawing and falling on her back that is new" Damian replies Hydro turns back to Ignite trying to grab her hands and keep her from clawing any further but the flames prevent him.

"Okay!!! Hor auf, dass duskier verletzt host!! Changling shouts panic preventing her from replying in English. Damian releases Ignite from the mental pain. Breathing heavily she opens her eyes warily.

"What did you say?" Adapta asks , Changing sighs

"I'm sorry, zwhen I'm scared or stressed it'z hard to speak in ozer language" She explains

"But what did you say?" Damian asks

"I told you to stop zat you are hursing her" Changling admits. Hydro is bent back over Ignite asking her if she okay, grabbing her headphones off of the floor. She nods as he hands her the headphones.

"So you hurt people?" Adapta asks

"No, I get into their minds, replay memories bad ones and all the pain she or they have felt in their entire life comes back all at once." Damian corrects, Adapta opens her mouth to say something but shuts her mouth her shut.

"Can she stand?" Damian asks he feels bad but doesn't want to admit it.

"I don't know, things like that are crippling to someone with her problem" He replies coldly. NO PUN INTENED.

"Usually people don't have that problem" Damian says Hydro sighs to himself helping Ignite to her feet, she weakly leans against him.

"No time to explain now we need to makeup for.....lost time" Ignite says her breathing still not regulating. She receives nods of concern and agreement.

"Can you walk?" Hydro asks her she shrugs

"I'll be slow" She says Hydro sighs and shakes his head.

"Get on my back , I'll carry you until you can walk" Hydro says turning his back to her, she jumps on and tightens her arms around his neck.

They begin walking, Damian looks back at Ignite every once in a while her face nuzzled in Hydro's neck. Guilt stung his stomach but he looked forward and kept walking swallowing the rock in his throat.
