Music: Sense Of Isolation
~~~
Nothing around me felt the same anymore, nothing made sense and nothing felt right.What I was doing, saying, and how I was acting never helped any of that in the slightest. I sighed to myself as I started cleaning the kitchen floor, I was downgraded from a human girl to a personal dirt cleaner.
I always told myself before all of that happened that I would be a strong person, not become someone else's bitch or toy.
I let that happen, meaning I not only let myself down but I let her down as well. I began to stand up, wiping the sweat from my forehead to look at the now crystal and clean floor "I finished what you asked me to do." "Good."
My step mother walked in glaring, ready to critique my work. "Below average, do it again!" Once she said that I growled and she smacked me as hard as she could leading my anger to pent up more but I had to let it go.
I could only tell myself that she saved me and that it was my fault for ever getting mad in the first place. "I hope you know your place by now brat." "Yes....I do. I apologize for getting upset." All over again. It was like reliving my previous incident with my actual family.
I shook my head getting rid of the thought immediately, so I got back on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor the best I could attempting to distract myself for as long as humanly possible. "Hurry it up I have guest coming over!!!"
I didn't even bother responding knowing the lashing of words were to come soon after. So I sped up the process as quickly as I could by washing the floor, drying it, and then waxing it over as fast as I could perfecting everything.
"Ugh, this ballroom still looks awful. You are only useful in minor things Y/n, adopting you was a mistake." She groaned "Miss.Marianne, may I be able to have some food? Even if it's just a little?"
Once I spoke her name she averted her gaze at me as if her name was sacred and to never be spoken by anyone. "You have the nerve to ask me for food?" She chuckled coldly as if I were telling some type of joke, when none of what I said was funny or humorous. "Table scraps and whatever is found in the trash can after the party. Now get lost you rat, the guest are here."
Words like that stung, I knew I was nothing more than a rat. She would have been a perfect fit for my father, they would've been a match made in hell-neither of them were set to be humane at all. They inflicted pain and wanted nothing more than wealth and control, it just goes to show the world revolves around that and that alone.
If the deadly sins were human, it would be those two-my father being Envy and Marianne being Lust along with greed. Everything had to be shiny and worth something for her eyes to even take a glance at you or the object, it's sad.
As I sat in my room alone hearing all the laughter and footsteps on the floor above me made me realize how lonely I truly was and how no one in this world cared for me at all.
My eyes averted to the floor as I covered my body with a dingy blanket and I started to cry in my old beat up teddy bear "You won't leave me, you are the only one I need in this world...you've been there for me since that day. Even before that even happened..." My (e/c) started pouring tears as I picked up an aged photo of me and my mother. I had lied down on my back looking at it reminiscing what events took place before this stupid picture was taken bed in the dark to curl up and replay everything.
"Happy Birthday!!!!!" I took a handful of multicolored confetti pieces and threw them over my mother. Today was her birthday! "Thank you my little angel." She chimed as she picked me up in her arms and twirled around with me. She had chuckled for a moment and then put me down, smiling.
