Chapter 7

"Damn! My bike!"
I terminate my running.

I instantly feel regret and guilt hits my body like a tonne of bricks, why did I leave Jay!? I'm so stupid! I run my hand through my curls, exposing my forehead and sigh.

"I should have never left the school..."

Thirty minutes go by, I arrive at my house.

"What do you think your doing not being at school, Harvey!"
She cries as I close the front door.

"I... didn't want to be there."

"Harvey get to your room, I don't even want to look at you right now! This is pathetic behaviour coming from you!
Your just like your father."
She continues to yell, looking quite upset.

Mother hasn't spoken about my father until the funeral, she is completely broken without him, but she remains positive everyday, just for me... I go upstairs and slam my door shut, I sit on my bed in silence and re-think all my mistakes, even from when I was little. Perhaps the bullies from my other schools were right, perhaps I should just runaway, I'm not normal, I'm not smart, I'm not nice- I've let my mother down! A tear streams down my face, I miss my father, he would understand me.

"Harvey no!"
I try to reach out to stop him, It's too late now...

The cleaner scuttles to the school reception and reports Harvey for leaving school.
I secretly trail behind her.

"Yes! He just left the school!"
She freaks out.

"No! He didn't! Don't believe her."
I appear at the desk.

"You think I'm mad, boy?"
Her face turns ugly.

I sigh. I can't win this argument.

"Yeah. That's what I thought. Now get to class!"
The cleaner spat her words at me.

I done what I was told and drag myself back to history class.

"I hope Harvey is safe."
I wonder.

I miss him enormously. I don't know why, though. He's just a boy... But he just makes me feel so happy! He's such a character.

"Oi Oi, here comes Jay!"
My friends joke, I ignore.

"Where's your boyfriend?"
Max leers in my direction.

"Oh my gosh, just shut up already!"
I raise my voice, it echoes around the class.

Since recently joining this school, Max does nothing but pick out people's flaws, especially mine and the worst part about it is that I have no clue why.

"Jay I actually want to send you out the class. We've been doing well without you, I will give you this history text book and you can answer the five questions on page seventy-two.
Off you go."

I happily stand and swing my bag on my back, I travel towards the front and Miss passes me the book.

"I'm disappointed in you..."
Miss gave me a horrible look.

"Thanks."
I grin sarcastically.

I don't care what she thinks anyway. I leave the classroom and launch the book across the corridor. I sprint towards the entrance of the school and stand in the exact place Harvey and I stood fifteen minutes ago.

"I'm coming, Harvey."
I whisper under my breath.

I'm officially out of school, I can't wait to find Harvey. I need to make sure he's alright...
