Chapter 21: Meeting An Old Friend

I walk out the door of the hotel I'm, or should I say WE, are staying at. I put my hoodie and my sunglasses on. I usually am excited to meet fans, but I seriously need to focus on the Grammys now. I got my grandma and all my friends AND my baby here, but I came here for one reason and one reason only. The Grammys! I quickly cross the street and I see a bubbly young girl who looks about my age walking towards the same arena.

I tapped on her shoulder as she opened the door and held the door open for her. "Oh, oh my gosh! You're, you are..." she said in shock. "Jade Leon? Yes I am! Who are you?" I asked happy she was so happy to see me. "Um, A-alize Medina." she stated taking a deep breath. I had a moment of shock. Before high school, in middle school, I had a club called the Six Musketeers and there was an ALIZE MEDINA in it!

"Hey, great name! If you don't mind me asking, were you ever in a club in middle school?" I asked her smiling, hoping it was the right Alize Medina. "Oh, yeah! The 6 Musketeers! But then we all lost touch after 8th grade. Funny 'cause there was a Jade Leon in it, too...wait a second." she said shocked. I hugged her. "I missed you so much, Alize!" I exclaimed, I was so happy to see her!

"I remember you always had a dream to, you know, be a famous pop singer...but it was  a one in a million chance, so I wasn't sure you would." she said smiling. "But I'm so proud of you, you did achieve your dream!" Alize said hugging me. She was so sweet. But I am a very sarcastic person and we had a complicated relationship. We loved each other, yet...we were always teasing each other for fun.

"So, why are you here?" I ask. "MEANIE! AH, the NERVE!" she said being her dramatic self. She really hasn't changed all that much...Anyway! "Alize, I mean..." I start but was cut off. "I mean, I can't be going to the Grammys, too?" she asks. "No, you definitely can...I MEANT I've never heard of you in any songs or TV shows or...movies or anything...." I say nervously, not wanting to offend her because I know she wanted to be an actress.

"Oh, well, I am in a movie. It is coming out in 2 days....so I am nominated for 'Best New Actress'! How cool is that?!" she asks me extatic. "That's really cool! What movie?" I ask, hoping we could go to the premiere together. "It's called 'Not Looking Back'. It is super inspirational. Can't wait to see it!" she says giggling. "HEY! You wanna come to the premeire? I can get you in? Me and the guys are tight!" she says like 'mm-hm! I'm cool!'.

"That would be AWESOME! What time? Hopefully not too early, I have got a fitting and short rehersal that day on....Friday. I can go anywhere 6 or after." I respond hoping I can still go. "Sure, it doesn't start until 7. Meet me at this address at 6:15 on Friday! We can get ready together!" she says happily, writing an address on my hand. "Awesome...wait, are you staying at this hotel?" I say pointing behind me. "Yeah, why?" she asks. "ME TOO!" I say excited.

Then I remember what I came here for. "Hey, Ali, I gotta go to rehersal, but here is my phone number, call me for lunch. And DO NOT GO ANYWHERE IN THE HOTEL BUT YOUR ROOM! I have a surprise, and if you do, you will probably find out." I tell her strictly, then break my seriousness with a smile. "Okay? Bye! TTYL!" she says before bouncing in one direction and me going in the other. I am SO happy right now.
