Chapter 23: Oh Good Grief!

I was still stunned. After, like, 8 years, I finally saw her again! So anyway, I walk into the arena. A couple of the custodians were cleaning up the arena smiled at me. I winked back at them. It must be hard to meet and see a bunch of celebrities and not freak out. I would probably freak out and get fired, but I still think it's kind of a cool job! So anyway, I fast walk past a bunch of other celebrities dressing rooms until coming across mine. I was surprised.

I looked back at all the other doors. They were all plain. Grey. Drab. But I guess my team had decorated my dressing room door. This is outrageous! My team is gonna be awesome! I knock on the door and slowly open the door. I hear a chorus of "hellos". "Hi, guys! I saw my door! Was that you guys?"I ask smiling.

"How did you ever guess?" A lady with small, rectangular glasses and red hair asked me, laughing. There was something I recognized about this person. I feel like I...like I know her from somewhere...but where? I smile back. "Hey, if you don't mind me asking...what's your name? I feel like I've seen you somewhere!" I ask her. "Oh, of course! I would say "you too" but of course you look familiar! You're an international pop star! Anyway, I'm Auri. Auri Castillo." she says smiling, sticking her hand out.

All of a sudden, my eyes bug out. This was my sixth grade teacher. I remember it so vividly, so clearly. This was Ms. Castillo! "Um, is everything okay, Jade?" she asks with a concerned face."YOU..y-you're MS. CASTILLO!" I say happily. Oh my goodness! How come everyone from my middle school that I lost touch with, I'm finding them all TODAY? Well, it doesn't matter.

"Oh my God, so YOU were one of my students? I mean, I thought it was POSSIBLE but...I never knew you wanted to be a singer, you always seemed more like a writer to me, so I took assumptions." she told me smiling. "Well, now you know. Anything is possible!" I said, hugging her and she hugged back. "I missed you so much!" I told her."Me, too. And just look at you! You're Jade Leon! A seven-time-Grammy-winning pop sensation!" she told me excitedly.

I smiled in happiness. "Well, what about you? What happened to teaching?" I ask. She gave me a kind of guilty look. "Well, my sister took me to a concert once and they pulled me back stage to help the wardrobe designer since my sister was friends with him. So then I really got into designing outfits and things for celebrities! So, I am your wardrobe designer!" she explained. "Wow! That's super cool! I can't wait to see what you dreamed up for me to wear! I bet it'll be amazing!" I tell. "Aww!" she replies.

"Okay, anyway, hi Jade. I'm Martin and I'm your make-up stylist." Martin says, shoving Ms. Castillo out of the way. "Hey, that was rude, Martin!" I tell him, looking at Ms.Castillo, then at Martin, then back at Ms. Castillo in disbelief. "Mister 'Martin', you don't wanna be here,I can get you outta here in one phone call!" I tell him holding up my neon green phone and pointing at it. "Look, Jade. It isn't all about you anymore. I'm sure that you can, but if you do, you'll just sound like a greedy, no good, brat...which you already are!" he responds scoffing. Did he really just go there?!

I was about to defend myslef when her bright yellow heel slammed in front of my feet. She crossed her arms. "What is wrong with you? Martin, this isn't about you. Be nice or be gone!" she tells him pointing to the door. I look at it and realized they decorated the back as well as the front and was about to thank them, but I stopped myself knowing it wasn't a good time. I pulledout my phone and clicked a contact called "GRAMMY COMPLAINT HOTLINE". Okay,I know it sounds ridiculous, but there have been problems before so the comitee thought to just make a complaint hotline and for heaven's sake, put an end to these problems!

"Hello! Grammy Complaint Hotline! How may I help you?" a lady on the end said, answering my call. "Hi, this is Jade Leon. I just came into rehearsals and I have a problem with my make-up stylist." I tell her. "What's wrong with him?" she asks. Duh, why didn't tell her? "Oh, well, he is extremely rude. Calling me a 'greedy, no-good, brat' and I was wondering what you could do about it." I explain to her. "Oh my! You mean, Anthony Mark? He's our top make-up stylist! Are you sure?" she asks with a surprised tone. Uhhh, Anthony Mark? As far as Im concerned, there is no 'Anthony Mark' in my dressing room quarelling with my old teacher. "Oh, I'm sorry! There must be a mistake! My make-upstylist's name is Martin!' I tell her, hoping she made a mistake.

After a few moments of an akward silence, the lady responds. "No, no, I just checked the system! In fact, we didn't even hire a stylist named 'Martin'! Good grief, this is confusing! I'm sending someone over now, okay Jade?" she responds and hangs up. Oh good grief is right.
