Chapter 5: GirlTalk
I couldn't stop thinking about what Taylor wrote. Of course, she only wrote it 15 seconds ago. She liked Niall. Niall...Iremember at the beginning of 2014 people started rumors that they were dating. Maybe, she had been secretly admiring Niall, that the rumors weren't completely true, but somewhat true. I wanted to run after Taylor, but Perrie and Eleanor were still here, awkwardly standing in front of me. Dang it, I had been daydreaming while they were waiting for me.
"Oh, uh sorry! Just...thinking. I was on Cloud Nine! Anyway, let me show you to the theater, if you can to watch the movie with me and Taylor. I don't know if you came to watch the game, but if you are, they're in the living room." I said. "Oh no, we came to watch the movie with you and Taylor...I mean, if that's all right with you. We should've called first. We're sorry." Said Perrie. "Oh no! It's fine! We'd love to have you watch the movie with us." I said back reassuringly. "Look, Jade. The real reason we came is because...we just want a stronger relationship with you. Perrie and I are so close, we just wanted you to be part of,like...the group." she said nervously. "I never thought-" I started but was cut off. "I know, you're like sisters with Taylor. We don't wanna REPLACE her...we just want to get to know you better and become better friends with you, that's all." Perrie said.
"Oh, no guys! I would never think of you as to REPLACE her. I know what you mean. I do too. It's just..." I stopped. Should I tell them? "Just what, Jade? What's wrong?" Eleanor asked nervously. "No, it's just...sometimes I get a little nervous because you're older." I said, making up a lie. They weren't as dumb as I thought, because they didn't buy it. "So basically you're saying you get a little nervous by us because we are older, yet your best friend is 4 years OLDER than us?" Perrie said, raising her eyebrow.
"Jade, we aren't as close as we want to be. But you can tell us the real reason why. You can trust us." Eleanor said. I sighed and told them the real reason why. "When I was in high school, I was ina group of friends that loved me, and I loved them. But one day, they decided that I wasn't cool enough and I was ruining their reputations. They said they wanted to be friends, but that they couldn't. I was so mad, I never wanted to be in another group of friends again. Which is why if I became friends with you..." I started but then couldn't continue. A slow tear rolled down my cheek.
"Oh, Jade! You couldn't possibly think we would ditch you for popularity and reputations!" Perrie said, pulling me into a hug. "Look, we've been there, done that. We know what it feels like." Eleanor said as she joined in making our hug a group hug. "Well, I would really like to be better friends now. As long as you promise not to ditch me!" I said."We swear." they both said together. "Cross my heart, hope to die..." Eleanor said snugly smiling and turning to look at Perrie. "I really, really like apple pie!" she finished. We all laughed.
"Okay guys, ready for the movie?" I asked and ran into the theater room. "What took so long?" Taylor asked. "I already put the DVD in the DVD player. Just press play." she said. We watched the movie until the half way point in which we all had a bathroom break. Everyone went and lined up at the bathroom door like a kindergarten class.
"Hello, love." I turned expecting to see Harry, but I saw Liam instead. "I need to talk to you." he said. "What's up, Liam?" I asked. HE sat down on the couch. "I..I love you." he told me shyly. "You do? Look Liam, you are a great guy, but I'm getting married! Even if I wanted to, I couldn't." I told him. "I'm sorry." I finished. A tear ran down his cheek. "Me too." he said before running out of the theater.
