Lauren and Camila were driving along the road. They had just dropped Lily off with Camila's parents for the day so they could take Taylor to his first day of kindergarten. The little boy was dressed in shorts and a button up shirt, holding onto his backpack in his lap as he sang along to the songs on the radio. Lauren reached her hand over to grab her wife's and hold it tightly. They were both excited for today...but at the same time it was emotional. Their first baby was starting his very first day of school. She gently squeezed her wife's hand as she turned into the school parking lot.

Camila took a deep breath as she looked at Lauren. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Taylor hugging his Ninja Turtles back pack to his chest. "Are you excited to make some new friends, Tay?" She asked softly. Camila squeezed her wife's hand and forced out a smile. She didn't want Taylor to know that she was anxious. She just wanted to tell Lauren to turn around and go home. She wasn't ready for Taylor to grow up and start school.

"Yeah!" He exclaimed with a big smile on his face.

Camila couldn't help but share his excitement as she smiled. If Taylor was happy than she would be happy. Camila unhooked her belt once they were parked and got out to open the back door for Taylor to get out of the car.

Lauren found a spot and parked the car before getting out and walking around to meet her wife and son. Lauren looked down as Taylor stared at the school.

"This where I'm going?" He asked sweetly. She smiled down at him and nodded before resting her hand on his upper back and walking toward the school.

"This will be your school for the next 7 years." Lauren said to him.

"I'll get lost! It's huge!" He looked up at the school before following his mothers into the school.

Lauren chuckled softly as her son expressed his concerns. She smiled as they walked toward the front door. "You'll be fine, bud. Just don't leave the room without a teacher." She said. Lauren just walked along side her wife and son, keeping her hand on Taylor's upper back.

Camila and Lauren had taken a look around the building when they first got him signed up for kindergarten, but she was thankful for the signs that directed new students and parents to the classrooms they're looking for. "Your teacher is Mrs. Fredericks, Tay." The little boy nodded in affirmation and continued to walk beside his mommies.

Lauren looked up as they started to approach the classroom. She took a deep breath as they stopped outside of the door by the coat hooks. "You ready for your first day, bud?" She asked as she squatted down to look him in the eyes. He looked a little nervous...but still excited. He nodded his head as she kissed his cheek. "Let's go then." Lauren said as she stood back up and they walked toward the door.

Camila reached down for one of Taylor's hands as she led him into the room and toward the cubbies for him to be able to put his back pack in. She looked down at him as he started to look around the room.

"Can I play, mami?" He looked up at Camila. Camila just squeezed his hand for a moment before taking a deep breath when he pulled away from her.

Lauren stood next to her wife who looked nervous, and she was, too, but wouldn't admit it out loud. When Taylor started to walk away, Lauren took a breath. "Tay?" She said as the boy stopped walking and came back. "You've gotta put your backpack away first." She said as she followed him to help find his cubby.

Once they put his backpack away, Lauren stopped him from walking away again. She got down to his eye level. "Go tell mami you love her and give her a hug...then you can go play." She said to him softly as she fixed his collar.
