| Kellin's POV |

I sighed as I pulled on my black skinny jeans, both loving and hating the way they hugged my hips. I turned back towards my closet and grabbed a large hoodie. I slipped it over my head and let the sleeves dangle over my pale hands. I glanced briefly at my reflection in the mirror and couldn't help the frown that formed.

There was always something wrong with my image.

My reflection was never what I wanted it to be. I've tried, and am still trying, to morph myself into the perfect image I want. I was always too wide in the hips, stomach to bloated, thighs too thick, shoulders too broad, and cheeks too chubby.  No matter what I did I could never achieve the poster board body I wanted.

I sighed and quickly turned myself away from the mirror. I grabbed my book bag from the floor and walked down the stairs to the kitchen. My Dad was leaning against the counter and he smiled when he saw me.
"Morning Kellin." He said and hugged me before sipping on his coffee.
"M-morn-ning D-dad." Stupid fucking stutter, I thought as I took a seat on the stool next to the kitchen island.

"Want me to fix you something to eat before school? You've got plenty of time." He looked at his watch. I glanced down and shook my head. "N-no thanks-s." He just nodded and turned to the fridge. He grabbed a bottle of apple juice out and slid it across the counter to me. I smiled and put my drink of choice into the side pocket of my book bag.

We sat in silence a few more moment before he grabbed his keys and motioned me towards he door. "I'm gonna drop you off a little early today, if that's okay?" He asked and I simply nodded my head. I picked my bag up and was quick to follow him out the door and to the car. Once I buckled up he pulled out of the driveway and turned the music in the car almost all the way up making me smile. Green Day's Brain Stew filtered through the cars speakers and I nodded my head along with the beat while my Dad tried to play air guitar without wrecking us.

I couldn't help but laugh at him as the old woman in the car behind us honked her horn and sped around us.
"People these days." He muttered and just turned the music up even louder. My Dad was one of a kind that's for sure and I couldn't ask for a better parent than him. He'd always been there for me from the start and he promised to always be there for me.

Him and my Mom started dating the year after he graduated. He was in community college and she was still a senior in high school, he was 19 and she was 18. They were going strong that first year but it soon took a turn. One night they apparently forgot to use a condom, how you forget I don't know, my Dad said they were caught up in the moment and it slipped both of their minds.

About a month later my Dad found out the news that his girlfriend of about a year and a half was pregnant. He told me that at first he was scared, heck he was only 20, but the day they had their first doctor's appointment he said he made up his mind. He said seeing his child on the screen, even though I was only a blob, changed his life.

He was filled with joy but my Mom on the other hand wasn't. She was set on aborting me but my Dad wouldn't hear of it. He said they argued and fought about it for weeks until my dad finally convinced her that they could make this work and that this baby would change their lives for the better. Dad truly believed that she was on board with everything and even thought she was excited to have the baby.

But as soon as she got out of the hospital after I was born she bolted.

She left me with Dad and never looked back. He told me he was upset of course but he had me to think about now and that's all he needed. He managed college, a job, and a kid, with some help from my grandparents of course. And here we are seventeen years later and he still is as great of a Dad as he was from the beginning and I only hoped that one day I would be as great as he was.

He was so strong willed and confident that at times it made me feel guilty for all the shit I had put him through. I wasn't a trouble maker by any means but I had definitely put a strain on my Dad. I was a handful and truthfully a mess. I pulled my hoodie sleeves down farther and rested my head against the window.
"You okay kiddo?" He turned down the music and asked.
"Y-yeah Dad I'm ok-kay." I said and gave him a small smile.

He nodded his head and turned the music up slightly. It wasn't long before we arrived at the school and I grabbed my stuff and opened the car door.
"Wait!" My Dad yelled before I could even actually get out of the car. "Here's your lunch money." He said and handed me some folded bills.
"D-dad I d-don't need-d mo-"
"Don't fight me on this Kellin." He said and tried to be stern. I just sighed and nodded my head.  "Now have a great day! Call me if you need anything!" He yelled after me as I waved to him and walked towards the school. I climbed the front steps and opened the school doors lazily, I wasn't ready for today at all.
