Now on toooo the chapter!

| Vic's POV |

I made sure Kellin was buckled in safely before we pulled out of the school parking lot. He stared out the window
and didn't make a sound. I glanced over at him consistently, wanting to make sure he was okay. His head rested against the window as he looked out and I couldn't help but notice the fresh tear tracks down his face. I hated seeing him like this. I hated knowing someone was being so cruel to him. Whoever it was better hope and pray that I don't find out who they are, because if I do they'll have hell to pay. Kellin didn't deserve to be hurt in anyway. This boy deserved the absolute best in the world and if there is anyway I can make that happen I will.

I drove us the forty-five minute drive to my house. I hadn't really asked Kellin where he wanted to go but I figured he wouldn't mind coming here. He had been here a couple times before and the only thing different this time was that my Mom was home. Kellin looked up at my house and then turned towards me.
"Are you s-sure it's okay that i-i come I-in? W-will your parents mind?" He asked in a quiet voice.
"I'm positively sure they won't mind at all Kells." I said giving him a big smile. "Mama's the only one home at the moment and she's amazing, you'll love her and she'll love you, I'm sure of it." He nodded his head and then took a deep breath.
"O-okay."
"Okay." I said and nodded as well. "You ready to go in?" He nodded again.

We both got out and walked up the little stone path that led up to my front porch. Mama was apparently planning to do some more gardening because numerous bags of potting soil and plant pots took up the opposite side of the porch. She thought she had a green thumb but it was really Papa who made her flowers thrive like they did. When she was out town or busy in the house he would tend to them like they were his own kids.  He had done it since Mike and I were little kids ourselves. I remember sitting in the grass watching him weed and water them one sunny day when I asked him why he never took credit for the beautiful flowers that were truly his doing.

He beckoned me over and smiled wider than I've ever seen. He asked me if I saw how proud Mama looked every time she'd bring in fresh flowers, how she would gush over the idea that she had grown something so beautiful, he said that was the reason he never took credit for anything. He told me that knowing it brought her such happiness was the only credit he ever needed.

Looking back on it now I guess I never really understood what he meant. I just thought it was plain crazy that he was letting Mama take credit for something he did, but now I think I understand. You do crazy things for the people you care about. As long as it brings a smile to their face you're completely content. I glanced over at Kellin and couldn't help but think of all the things I would do to keep a smile on his face. The possibilities were endless and I was sure I would do anything if it meant he would be happy.

He looked back at me and gave me a confused look. I guess it was kind of weird that I was just staring at him while we stood outside. I shook my head and sent another smile his way before unlocking the door and stepping to the side to let him in. I shut the door behind me, Kellin following my lead as I slipped my shoes off and sat them on the rug nearby the door.

I gently grabbed his hand and was starting to make my way up the stairs when Mama called out from the kitchen.
"Victor is that you?" She soon rounded the corner and smiled at me when she realized it was me and not my dad.
"Well it wasn't the Victor I was expecting. Shouldn't you be in school?" She said with a raised eyebrow.
"Technically yes," I nodded. "But some things happened."
"What kind of things?" She questioned and threw the dish towel she had in her hand over her shoulder. I gave a quick glance to Kellin and then back at my Mom. She nodded in understanding.
"Well whatever it is I'm sure you had good enough reason to skip the rest of the day, just don't let it become a habit. Got it?"
"Got it."

"Now why don't you introduce me to this lovely young man." Mama smiled and gestured to Kellin.
"Mama this is Kellin, Kellin this is my Mom."
"It's nice to meet you." My mom said giving him a warm smile. "Lately you're all Vic has talked about." I saw Kellin blush and I couldn't help but blush slightly myself.
"Mama!" I whined.
"Oh shush Vic. Anyways like I said it's nice to finally meet you Kellin."
"I-it's nice t-to m-meet you too Mrs. Fuentes." Kellin said quietly and smiled at her.
"Oh please honey call me Mama or Vivian. Now will you be staying for dinner?"
"I-I umm..." he trailed off and looked to me.
"He will." I answered for him. "Now is it okay if we go on up to my room?"
"Of course, of course. Have fun boys, I'll call you down when it's ready." I smiled and thanked her before placing a light kiss on her cheek before leading Kellin upstairs to my room.
