| Kellin's POV |

"Kellin...Kells." I heard someone calling me and I felt a slight weight on my shoulder as it was being gently shook.
"Come on buddy lets get you in bed." I heard my familiar voice of my Dad say. I opened my eyes a little and brought a hand up to run it through my hair. Even though I didn't need it, my Dad took my my the arm and helped me sit on the edge of my bed. My eyes were fully opened now and I watched as he went over to my set of drawers and pulled out another t-shirt. It was then that I remembered what had happened last night.

I put my head in my hands and sighed.
"I-I'm s-sorry." I told him quietly. He was quick to sit down beside of me on the bed, he wrapped an arm around my shoulder and pulled me into a hug.
"There's absolutely no reason for you to be sorry, okay?" He said just as quietly as I had spoken. "I just wish you had came and got me."
"I-I didn't w-want to b-bother you." I told him and sunk into his hold a tiny bit more.
"Kells it doesn't matter what time it is or where we are at if you need me you get me. I'll always be here for you buddy." He said and I felt him kiss the top of my head. "Now come on let's get you out of that shirt."

I pulled away from his grasp and tugged on the end of my now torn and tattered t-shirt. Once I had tugged it off Dad slipped the new t-shit over my head and I was quick to put my arms through it so he wouldn't have to see the scratches and bruises I had made from last night, but I had a feeling he saw them anyway. I looked up at him and he had this frown on his face.
"What happened last night?" He asked and I just shrugged. "Kells you know I won't force you to talk about anything but please I need you to tell me if you feel you're starting to get bad again. Just a yes or no, even a maybe." He paused and took a moment to kneel down in front of me. He took my hands in his and sighed. "I can't loose you. You're my little boy."

"I promise I'll be okay Dad." I said and gave him the best smile I could muster. "Last night was just a rough one." He nodded his head and hugged me again before standing up and looking around the room.
"I'm taking off work today,"
"Dad no." I shook my head.
"Nope don't fight me on this. You're not going to school either. We're gonna have a good lazy day filled with movies and bad tv shows." He walked towards the door and then motioned for me to follow him. "Unless you wanna sleep for a while. If you do then it can wait." He said and I was quick to give him a small smile.
"N-no, I-it sounds fun."

~~~
I laughed as my Dad yelled at the tv. He was criticizing some girl as she ran into the house and right past the killer lurking by the door. I wasn't much for scary movies but it was fun to watch them with my Dad because he always made jokes about them and yelled at the characters as if they could hear him. He was also very good about watching them beforehand that way he could warn me of the jump scares.
I was currently laughing even more as he started throwing popcorn at the screen. He was so into the movie he almost missed the knock on the door. He turned his head quickly and then looked at me with wide eyes.
"Don't answer it." I laughed at him again and got up from the couch.
"Don't w-worry, I-I've got this."
"Kellin I'm telling you that's how it all starts!" He yelled after me. I laughed at him again and shook my head as I made my way to the door.
I opened it a tiny bit and peaked around the corner. I had suspected to be the mail man or a neighbor wanting to borrow something, I wasn't expecting it to be Vic.
"Hey Kells!" He said with a bright smile when I pulled the door open wider.
"H-hi."
"You didn't come to school today and you hadn't picked up your phone," he ran a hand through his chocolate brown hair and locked his gaze with mine. "I wanted to make sure you were okay." I smiled at him and nodded.
"I-I'm good." I said and a soft silence fell between us, which I broke a few moments later. "T-thanks for last night." I told him quietly.
"No need to thank me Kellin. I'm just glad I could help. Anytime you need me just call. It doesn't m-"
"Kellin did you get murdered by a psycho killer?" I heard my Dad yell as he crept around the corner. I turned to see him peaking around the wall and trying to grasp the umbrella. I laughed and shook my head.
"It's just Vic." I said. My Dad made a big show of wiping away the imaginary sweat on his brow and letting out a gigantic sigh of relief.
"Good. Good. I'm not sure I'm in good enough shape to fight off a serial killer." My Dad said with a big smile. "Hiya Vic." He said and rested his shoulder against the wall.
"Hey Mr. Bostwick."
"Call me Kevin." He said with a wave of his hand. "What brings you by?"
"Just wanted to check up on Kellin since he wasn't at school today." Vic explained, thankfully leaving out the part where I called him during my break down last night.
"Well why don't you come in and join us. We're just watching some movies and chillin'." Vic looked at me, as if he was asking me if I wanted him to stay, and I nodded my head slightly. A big smile spread across his face.
"Sounds fun."
"Great I'll go order pizza for you cool cats and myself of course." And with that my Dad left us in the doorway to go order the food.
I opened the door wider and stepped back so Vic could get inside. He shrugged his coat off and laughed as he hung it up.
"I love your Dad. I mean, cool cats and chillin', he's amazing."
"He is pretty great." I nodded and closed door. When I turned back around Vic was smiling at me.
"What?" I said and he just shook his head. "I'm just glad we get to hang out." He shrugged.
"M-me too." I admitted and I felt the smallest bit of warmth in my cheeks as I smiled up at Vic.
