Feeling Unlike Myself
Having somehow managed to piece her shirt back together enough to look presentable with a strange array of things she had found in her purse or located in the vacant room, Evie now walked through the halls with more determination than she had ever had; even more than she had for finding herself a prince. It had taken her the rest of fifth period to reassemble the clothing item, so she now made her way to her sixth period, ready to actually figure out what the class was about since she had missed it her first day when Jay had drug her into his shenanigans.
However, her entire mood shifted when she walked into the classroom at the last second and found Mal sitting in the back of the room. Well, how about that. A smirk having found its way onto her face, Evie swiftly made her way to the back of the room, ecstatic that Mal hadn't so much as glanced up when the bell rang. This should be fun. She was determined to get the girl back for leaving her in that room after building her up a second time; and she knew it had been the second time on purpose, well aware that Mal knew it would be more painful for her. But Mal would regret her decision, Evie would make sure of that.
Sliding into one of the empty seats by Mal she heard several gasps echo through the room as all eyes trained on her; including the ones she often day-dreamed about. But she didn't look at Mal, instead focusing on meeting the other eyes with a raised eyebrow, daring them to keep staring. They didn't.
"What do you think you're doing?" Mal hissed quietly, keeping her gaze trained on the teacher as he began his dull lesson.
Of course she's not going to look at me anymore, Evie thought, giggling quietly to herself; that would be too tempting for her. She knew she was being conceited, but she also knew she had reason to be when discussing Mal's interest in her; the girl just couldn't resist her no matter how hard she grit her teeth and tried. The way Mal tried to make it seem as though she were difficult to get made it that much better for Evie because it allowed her to use every trick under her sleeve.
"Learning, what does it look like?" Evie replied innocently, playing the girl's game and keeping her own gaze from landing on its desired target; except, instead of watching the teacher, she focused on making sure no one was looking back at them. "Honestly, why are you so cranky all the time?"
"I wonder," Mal spoke through a clenched jaw.
No one's even glancing back at us, they're all too afraid of Mal. Perfect.
Sitting on the edge of her seat, Evie kept her gaze forward as she reached over to place her hand on Mal's thigh, enjoying the way the girl's muscles attempted to figure out if they should tense up, or relax. Surprisingly, Mal didn't move her hand, and so she squeezed her leg, daring to slide a bit closer to where she wanted to be.
"Now, what are you doing?" Mal's voice was more breathy than before, but Evie could still hear the anger in it.
That was fine, she enjoyed the girl's anger; that is, until it resulted in her being left alone in a room. She giggled. "Teaching."
"Is that so?" Mal questioned, hand falling down for her fingers to close around Evie's tightly. "You don't seem intelligent enough to teach."
"I've taught you lots of things, haven't I?" Evie arched her eyebrow, finally shifting her gaze to look at the girl, only to find green eyes burning brightly.
"I thought I told you we weren't doing this anymore."
"And I thought that was before you fucked me senseless in a public area."
She watched muscles tense as Mal locked her teeth together, the reminder clearly being one she hadn't wanted. Once again, Evie had the upper-hand – not that Mal ever had it much. Noticing the change in the color of Mal's eyes that showed how turned on she was, Evie couldn't help but smirk; this is almost too easy. It almost wasn't even a challenge anymore, but she still felt a rush every time she was near the girl, a rush she couldn't explain with words, and she was beginning to think her unending interest wasn't simply because of the challenge of the girl's reputation.
