Cleo's POV

When we arrived at the airport Kayla and Jacob were waiting for us. When they saw us they smiled and came over to greet us. "Hey, took you long enough to get here! Want help with the luggage?" Jacob said, coming over and helping Ryx with the heavy weaponry. We were at the SAC's private airport, so we could take out the weapons from the hidden compartments without worrying about spies or whatnot. Some staff came over and took away the weapons, probably to load them into the private jet.

"How long do we have till the departure?" Ryx asked, checking his watch. "2 hours and 30 minutes." Jacob said. "We better be going inside, it looks like a storm's coming. Hope that doesn't affect our flight." I said, observing the sky. The other three looked at the sky and nodded in confirmation. In training we've being taught to read nature, which comes in handy now and then. We all headed inside, and we got comfortable in the waiting room. I heard someone say 'hi' so I looked to my left.

Kayla was there two seats away, twiddling with her thumb. I sure she wanted to talk with me and instantly my walls tightened. But remembering Ryx's pleas I let them down enough so I didn't appear threatening. "Were you talking to me?" I questioned, smiling slightly at her. "Yeah, I thought maybe we could have a little chat since staring into space is so boring!" she said, faking a yawn. I smiled, I like her already. "Sure, I promise I don't bite." I joked, making Kayla giggle. She scooted closer and looked at me closely. "Your pretty." she declared finally, then fiddling with her hair she mumbled, "I wish I looked like you." I chuckled. Kayla was about 5.3 feet, while I was 5.9. She had pretty eyes that were a dark grey and straight light brown hair. "Your pretty Kayla, everyone is born with their own unique features. Like for example, I have never seen such stunning eyes before!" I said, making her smile. "And I have never seen such pretty hair before!" she exclaimed. I chuckled. 'I think we are going to be the best of friends.' I thought happily. "Can I ask you a question?" Kayla asked me. "Sure, no problem." I replied. "Can we be friends?"

Kayla and I were talking like old friends about everything that came into our minds from Kayla's nail polish to our jobs. I learnt that Kayla was part vampire and part witch. She was chased away from her coven when they found out that her mother was a witch. Her father despised her and had killed her mother. He was going to kill her as well but she had run away. She was only 5 years old when she ran away. She had lived in the forest for 4 years before the SAC found her. She was 15 now.

My blood was boiling inside my veins when I thought how they had treated Kayla. I felt very protective over her, she was like a little sister now. I mentally vowed to protect her till my death. I guess it's a thing to do with my zodiac sign, which Kayla said was Scorpio. We were so busy talking that we didn't feel the time fly. Literally.

"Hey you two parrots, we gotta go. Now." Ryx said, coming over and putting his big hand over my mouth, making me unable to talk. I struggled to take it off but in vain. He smirked at me, probably thought he finally got me surrendered. I gave him a mischievous look and licked his hand. "Ewww!!!!!! What the hell!" he squealed like a girl and ran over to Jacob and wiped his hand on Jacob's jacket. "What the hell!!! Man that's disgusting!!" Jacob shrieked and took off his jacket and threw it at Ryx.

I was laughing so hard that my sides were hurting and Kayla was on the floor clutching to her stomach and laughing/choking/crying. I wiped away my tears and bit my lip, trying to stop the laughter. "I'm so glad you guys are my friends, but I'm starting to consider you as family." I said truthfully, resulting in Ryx coming over and lifting me off the chair into a bone crushing hug. My feet were dangling about 10 inches off the ground, and I was starting to suffocate. "Can't. Breathe." I choked out. Ryx instantly dropped me and good thing I've been taught to land on my feet or else I would've probably hit my head on the metal chairs.

Kayla came over and gave me a light hug. "I'm so glad you consider us as family! I finally got a sister and she happens to be The Dragon Queen!" Kayla squealed and gave me another hug. "Glad you accept us Cleo, or should I call you my baby sis?" Jacob said teasingly. "That's what I call her!" Ryx growled playfully. "Fine I'll call her chicka." Jacob grumbled. I raised my eyebrow at him. He shrugged.

'Passengers please board the plane. We are taking off in 5 minutes!"

A man's voice said through the intercom. He sounded impatient... "Oops... guess we fooled around too much! Let get going before the pilot eats our heads off!" Jacob said dragging me by the hand. "As if he can even get close to us before I chop his head off and fry it and dress it with salad leaves and put barbecue sauce over it!" Ryx snorted. "Ewww!!" Kayla and I shrieked before running away. "Where are you running?!" Ryx yelled after us. "To save the pilot's head!" I replied, giggling as I ran.

I groaned. The flight was taking so long and it was so boring! I looked at the others. Ryx was listening to his iPod, Kayla was asleep and Jacob was staring into space. I went over to where Jacob was and sat down beside him. He smiled at me in greeting. "What's up chicka? Bored out of your skull like me?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. "You bet! Can we talk? Get to know each other maybe?" I asked. He nodded, smiling at me. He had ocean blue eyes with flecks of dark blue in them. His black hair was cut emo style. He was about 6.4 feet tall, lean but muscular. Ryx told me he was 20.

"Sure. I would like to get to know the legendary Dragon Queen herself!" Jacob said with a chuckle. "So how did you end up in SAC? It's okay if you don't wanna share your story." I said, hoping I didn't make him uncomfortable. He gave a small sigh. "Well, I was a 12 year old little boy who was sick of life so I... hackedtheSACcomputerfiles." he said in a rush. "You what? Tell it again but speak more slowly." I told him. "I hacked the SAC computer files." he said again, sheepishly running his hand through his hair. I stayed silent for a while. "Wow! So technically you're a genius! What happened after that?" I asked in awe. He gave a soft chuckle. "Well chicka, they caught me, obviously and..." he stopped. "And what?! Did they hurt you?" I asked, the silence killing me. "They offered me a job. As an assassin/technician thingy. And I accepted it." he said, giving me a smile. "Wow! So you're some kind of genius assassin!" I said. "More or less." he said chuckling. "Enough about me, I wanna know about the almighty Dragon Queen!" he said, earning a slap from me. I gave a laugh. "Well, I'll tell my story, but it isn't pretty." I warned him. He nodded understandingly, his blue eyes filled with comfort. So I told him my story.
