It wasn't surprising how much the day had taken out of me when I was done running around with Bonnie. I needed time with her to celebrate about Stefan being okay and the stresses of everything we had to do in order to plan for Caroline's wedding.

Bringing everything inside of the house, I almost tripped because of how heavy the bags were. I laid down on the couch after putting everything up for her.

"That's everything," Bonnie grumbled when she came inside the house. My best friend was as tired as I was, plopping down on the couch and turning on the TV.

Taking the remote from her, I turned it to the news, shocked at what I was seeing and hearing. The sun was setting outside, so it just made the house feel even more ominous, as well as creepy. And there it was, something that I never thought I would witness, at all or this soon. Although, I noticed that her eyes looked glazed over, almost as though she was being compelled. Her voice had the same monotone I had witnessed so many times before. Turning up the volume, I made sure to pay close attention to everything she was saying. "Hello, residents of Mystic Falls. For those of you that pay attention to news regularly, you would be well informed about the murders that have spread at rapid paces throughout the country."

Bonnie looked at me and her mouth dropped open. "What could this possibly be?"

I looked at her with a small smile on my face that was slowly growing bigger. "I think you're thinking the same thing I am, but I don't want to get my hopes up."

She put her hand on my shoulder as a way to comfort me. "Let's just listen some more and then we can make our decision from there." I looked at her and nodded, trying to keep the tears from falling. I made sure not to miss a single thing on the TV and I noticed that my hand and the remote was shaking the entire time. She wrapped her arms around me and kept them there until the lady started to speak again.

"I would like to inform you that these brutal murders have been put to an end. We don't know who or what caused them, but hopefully, they won't come back anytime soon," she finished saying. "That's all for today's daily news." It took me awhile to process what she was saying, but when I did, I wasted no time.

"Bonnie, get in the car," I rushed out with a huge smile on my face. She did exactly as I told her and I followed her lead. It didn't take very long for the both of us to get inside the car and to the boarding house. I spent the entire car ride more nervous than I had ever been before.

After what felt like the longest car ride ever, I finally made in front of the house where so many of my memories were made. Taking a deep breath, I opened up the door and walked on inside. The first thing I saw was Damon on the couch, but he wasn't exactly who I was looking for. "Damon, where is—?"

"You looking for me?" Those words seemed to linger in the air before they actually made it to me. Turning around slowly, I was faced with the one person that had brought me so much happiness and helped me to find myself.

"You're back!" I exclaimed and ran to go give him a hug. While he was spinning around. a rush of memories seemed to entire my mind. Every kiss, every laugh, every tear, every handhold. It all reminded me why I fought so hard to get to this moment, why we fought so hard to get to this moment. "I missed you so much," I said, a few tears escaping my eyes. "But the most important thing is that you're okay, we're okay."

He looked me in the eyes, wiping my tears away with his finger. "I won't ever do that again. It was too painful. I love you so much and I'm just glad you're okay." He pressed a small kiss to my forehead. He wrapped his arms around me even after we were both standing on the floor. "I also want to apologize for what happened at the party. I know that I did before, but now...now that I'm back to normal, I wanted to let you know that it was sincere and that I actually meant it." I nodded my head and kissed him softly with a smile on my face. Once we broke apart, he pulled me over to the couch. "So, what have I missed?"

I sat down on the couch with him and placed his hands in mind. A lot had happened in the past six months, but all the details were easy to recall. "Kol and Davina came to help me find you because Klaus thought that she would be able to help, but you know that because you saw her at the party with us."

"I was wondering who she was, considering I had never seen her around any of the Mikealsons," Stefan said. "It's a relief that he was able to find someone that could love him and help him control his bloodlust." He then took a strand of hair and placed it behind my ear. "Someone like you." Putting his arms around me, I continued to tell him about everything we had all gone through.

Stefan looked at me with his mouth wide open when I finished. "Wow, I really did miss a lot."

"Well, what do you expect? You were gone for almost seven months," I said, raising my eyebrows at him. He immediately lowered his head in shame, which caused me to feel more guilty than I ever thought possible. I backpedaled and tried to fix this. "Which absolutely wasn't your fault. I know how insane and out of it it's like to have your humanity off. There's nothing you should feel guilty about."

"I can't help it. Leaving you almost broke me."

"Well, I said it once and I'll say it again. You're back now and that's all that matters. We have plenty of time to spend."

"I guess you're right about that," he said, pressing a kiss to my forehead. "That also reminds me that I have plenty of things planned for the two of us to do." I raised my eyebrows at him, curious about they were. He just pressed a finger to my lips, silencing me with a smile. "If I told you, what kind of surprise would it be?" Those words made me think back to the dream, causing the side of my mouth to lift up. "The way I see it, nothing can be as suspenseful as waiting for me to come back."

I sighed reluctantly. "I guess you are right about the last part." He just nodded his head with a smirk. "You know I wouldn't be so okay with this if I didn't love you as much as I do, right?" I asked with a smile. I just kept on thinking about how nice this felt and how much I missed it. Just being there with him and the two of us being able to talk about everything without having to worry about being judged. That was probably what I missed most of all while he was gone.

"I know," he said and took my hands in his. "Now, if I were you, I would go home and get dressed." He pressed a small kiss to my cheek. "I'll pick you up at eight." Pressing one last kiss to my forehead, he hustled me out of the boarding house with a smirk on his face.

"But what should I—" I asked, but he quickly cut me off.

"You'll look amazing in everything. You're wasting more time trying to get information out of me. Love you!"

He slowly shut the door and I headed home to get ready.
