A/N: I would listen to Best is Yet to Come by Red because it's what I listened to while writing this and really wrote the chapter on its own.

I ran home as fast as I could and looked through my closet. I finally decided on a blue shirt with white stripes and a pair of denim jeans. Not sure where exactly he was planning on taking me, I choose to dress it up with a pair of heeled black boots. Lying the clothes out on my bed, I ran myself a bath. It felt nice and made me realize that I had nothing to worry about anymore because everything had finally fallen into place.

After I bathed and reflected on everything that had happened between those months and today, I decided to do my makeup and curl my hair. As for my makeup, I settled on a coppery smokey-eye because it would bring out my brown eyes. Once that happened, I waited around and wrote in my diary because I wanted to make sure that this day would always be preserved in my memory. As I finished, the doorbell rang.

Heading downstairs, I opened the door and was greeted by the person I loved the most. "You look very dapper," I said with a smile.

"You look...very beautiful," he said and reflected his smile back to me.

"Thank you," I said, feeling as though the smile was absolutely permanent.

"Well, I speak nothing but the truth," he said with a small smirk on his face.

"Whatever you say," I said and smiled, rolling my eyes jokingly. "How are you so perfect?" I said as a sigh escaped my lips.

"Now, I love to sit and chat," he said softly, "but I have a full night planned for us and I don't know to miss out on anything."

"I guess you are right about that," I said, feeling a smirk making its way onto my features. "Actually, since you're here, can I have a hint about what actually have planned?" I asked, giving him my puppy dog eyes.

"That's cute," he said, pecking my lips softly. "You actually think you're going to get information out of me," I shrugged my shoulders. "Well, how about we leave and then you can find out." He grabbed my hand and led me to his car, which held an abundance of memories for the two of us. The thought of more happening made me smile even wider. "I hope you know how much I love you."

"I'm pretty sure I do," I said and got into the seat next to him.

We stayed like that with our hands intertwined until we got to the destination. "Well, we're here." I wasn't sure how long we had been gone, but it must've been a long while because it was certainly fancy.

"Why did you do all of this?" I asked when my jaw dropped to the floor.

"Because I wanted to," he answered. "While I was gone, you never gave up on me. You didn't stop until you finally found me. I don't know a lot of people that would do that." He took my hands in his and held onto them tightly. "You are one of the few people that have stood by me through everything and there is nothing I could do to repay you."

"You came back. That's enough to repay me," I said and smiled up at him. "I don't know about you, but I am currently starving." I pecked his cheek softly. I knew how much talking about him leaving hurt him, so I tried my best to change the subject without being rude.

"I have to agree with you on that," he said with a wide smile, taking my hand and walking us inside of the restaurant. Walking inside, I took note of the dimly lit rooms and romantic atmosphere. "Um," he said to the hostess, "I have a reservation for two under Salvatore." She walked us to our seats and handed us our menus with a smile. "I hope you like it," he said and held my hand once more. "This place was booked probably a month out, but I have my ways," he said with a smirk. "After all, it was well worth it...for you."

"Stefan, I love this, but...what makes you think I deserve it?"

"You deserve everything...you deserve to be treated like a princess. After everything you've done for me, it's the least I could do. I just don't know what I would do if you weren't in my life," he said, tears sparkling in his eyes. "Anyway, I'm getting too sappy at the current moment. What are you thinking about getting?" he asked, looking down at his menu for the first time

"The sausage pesto angel hair pasta looks good," I told him, licking my lips at the thought of it. "What about you? What is Mr. Salvatore in the mood for?" I said, running my hand through my hair as a small giggle came out of my mouth.

"The tomato and bacon Alfredo sounds good." He must have noticed my facial expression because he opened his mouth to back it up. "It's honestly really good...or at least I hope the one here is. I remember my dad's mom was Italian and she gave him the recipe and him and my mom used to make it."

I noticed a flash of pain go through his eyes as he possibly remembered his past and I intertwined our hands once more. "I'm sure it will be and if it isn't, then I'll have Bonnie force Damon to make it for you," I said with a small smile.

"You're too good to me, but I'm sure you know that right?" he asked me and smiled at me. I shook my head slowly and all he did was roll his eyes. The food came a moment later and it was as good as the both of us expected it to be. Once we had finished, I noticed that waiters and waitress came out holding candelabras and placing them around the room.

"Stefan, what's going on?"

"Just wait and see," he said with a smirk. I noticed more people were coming out and I got even more nervous.

"I usually trust you completely with all of the surprises you have up your sleeves," I said, biting down on my bottom lip, "but you're kinda scaring me."

"Elena Marie Gilbert," he started and got down on one knee, "when I first met you, I didn't think I would be able to find myself again. After everything happened with Katherine and I became the Ripper all those years ago, I never thought I would find genuine happiness and would always be a monster. However, that all changed when I met. You took someone who was damaged beyond repair and fixed me up, never once leaving my side. We've gone through the ups and downs together, but through everything, we haven't left each other's sides. Thank you for everything you have done for me. You have no idea how eternally grateful I am. But I hope that I'll be able to show it to you for that long. I couldn't have asked for a better soulmate and woman to commit myself to. Will you marry me?"

"There's no other person I would ever say yes to," I said, smiling as he slipped the ring on my finger. I jumped into his arms and pecked him softly on the lips.

Everyone in the restaurant started cheering, but I kept my eyes on Stefan the entire time. "I love you so much," he mumbled into my hair. Tears started spilling out my house as the entire situation sank in. This was everything that I had ever wanted in life. Wiping my tears away, he set me back down on the floor. "Let's go home." Grabbing my hand in his, we walked back out to his car.

A/N: I'm not crying, you are! In a way, writing this chapter brought back a lot of memories of the past two years when I was really in my honeymoon stage with these two and what really made me fall in love with them. I'm very sad to say that the book is coming to a close soon, but there are still a few more stops on the way.
