Meeting Jess

Rileys POV:
Me and James walk into his moms house. Deboradh smiles.
'Riley! James! Hi!'
We hug her.
'Congradulations on winning nationals!'
'Thanks!' I smile.
Kevin approaches us with someone who Im guessing is his girlfriend.
I hug him.
'Hey Ri'
'Hey Kev'
I look at the girl hes with.
'You must be his girlfriend. Im Riley. Im sorry I dont know your name but James wouldnt tell me anything about you!'
She laughs.
'Im Jessica. Jess for short. And Ive actually heard allot about you'
'You have?'
'Yeah. Your all that James talks about'
I smile.
'Ill be upstairs getting my things' James says.
'Ill come'
I follow him up to his room.
'I remember this place. And it hasnt changed a bit'
He laughs.
We pack his things in silence.
'Is it true what Jess saud?' I ask him.
'About what?'
'That all you ever do is talj about me?'
He looks at me.
'Y-yeah. It is'
'Even during everything that happened in the last few weeks?'
He nods.
'Why? I mean I know you hurt me but I did too. Kicking you out like that was wrong and I didnt even give you a chance. And yet you talk about me'
'Your all thats ever on my mind Ri. I think about you every second of every day. Ill never stop thinking about you'
I smile.
'Thats sweet'
'Um...I told Jess about what happened between us'
'Why?'
'Because she was just there. And I neded to speak to someone'
I nod.
'Its okay. I get it'
He smiles.
'Okay. But I think its time to make some sort of deal'
I look at him.
'What kind?'
'I never want this to happen again, so why dont we make a promise to eachother. If theres ever somethong bothering me, Ill tell you and if theres something bothering you, youll tell me. And no more secrets'
I nod.
'Thats fair'
He kisses me.
We finish packing. A knock comes on the door.
'Lunch is ready' Jess smiles.
'Okay. Thanks'
She walks off.
We go downstairs and join the others.
'So. How did you and Kevin meet?' I ask Jess.
'Am...well I work in one of theos shops across the road and Kevin was a regular customer and one tjing lead yo another'
I smile.
'And how did you and James meet?'
'At school actually'
'Cool. I hope you dont mind me asking but hows this whole drama between yiu right now?'
I look at James and smile.
'Its all settled. We're not getting a divorce anymore'
'Yeah. She literally riped the paper up!'
We laugh.
'Id love to see your babies. What are their names?'
'Dlan and Ashlyn'
I stop.
'Shit! James! I forgot about the twins! Theire with some carer that Kate paid for! Wr gotts go!' I say getting up and pulling jim away.
'What about my stuff!'
'You can get them later! Tjanks for lunvk! Nice meeting you Jess! Bye!' I say as wr run out of the house.
I run inside.
Clara who is tge mindrt comes over to us.
'Shhhh. Their sleeping'
'Im so sorry. We completly forgot to come bavk'
'Its okay'
'You should hwad home. Thanks again'
'No problem'
She leaves.
I turn to James.
'I believe youd like to see your choldren again'
He smiles.
'Very much'
We go upstairs and walk into their bedroom. We watch them as they sleep.
'I never thought Id see them again'
I look at him.
'Even if the divorce went ahead, I still would have let you see them. Your their father. And that will never change'
He smiles sweetly.
'Your amazing Ri'
'I know'
We carry the twins downstairs.
Jess gets all excited.
'Eeeeek! Tgeir soooo cute!' she squeels.
'Do yoi want to hold one?'
'Yes please!'
I hand her Ashlyn.
'Awwww! Shes adorable! And she has yiur eyes Riley!'
'See. I told you' James smiles.
I give him a side hug.
'We're going to go now. See you later' kevin says.
'Okay. Thanks for bringing the bags'
'No problem'
They leave. I then realise that Jess still has Ashlyn!
'Jess!' I call after her.
'Yeah?'
'Id like my baby back if thats okay?' I smile.
'Oh! Im so sorry! I forgot I was holding her!' she says handing her back to me.
'Its okay' I laugh.
'Bye!'
'Bye!'
I walk back inside.
James laughs.
'What?'
'Ri! She just walked out with Ashlyn!'
'I know that!'
We burst out laughing. He looks at me.
'Let me take you out for dinner tonight' he says.
'Like a date?'
He nods.
I smile.
'Why?'
'I dunno. To celebrate us I guess'
'You dont have to'
'But I want to. I owe you that much'
I smile.
'Okay then. Where are we going?'
'Youll see'
I smile.
'But whos going to mind the twins?'
'Alfie can mind them. He doesnt have to be back at the studio till next week. Im sire hed love to take care of them'
I nod.
'Okay. What time?'
'Meet me right here at 7:30'
'Hete at 7:30. Got it'
He smiles. I kiss him.
I cant wait for tonight!
