Times up

Rileys POV:
James hasnt left Deboradhs side in days. Shes on her last legs and seeing her so sick is heart breaking.
I see Kevin, Jess and Piper walk in.
Piper has gone so pale and doesnt seem to be taking this well. None of us are.
'W-wheres James?' Piper asks
'Hes with Deboradh'
'C-can we see her?'
I nod and they walk in.
I sit down.
I hear soneone running over to me.
I look up and see Emily.
I wrap my arms around her.
'Oh Ri. I came as soon as I could' she says.
I cant hold it in anymore. I just let the tears fall.
'Oh baby. Its going to be okay'
'I just dont know what to do. My husband is heartbroken and all I can do is stand here like a fool! Im usless! I cant make him better! I cant fix this! All I can do is watch him suffer in pain as his mother slowely leaves him! Im usless to him!'
She looks at me.
'Your not usless Ri. Your my baby' I hear a rough voice behind me say.
I turn around and see James standing there.
'James-'
'Its okay. Your not usless Ri. Youve done so much. Youve minded our children through all this. Youve minded me. Your such an amazing person. Never forger that' he says sadly.
I go over to him and softly kiss him and hug him.
'I love you James'
'I love you too Ri'
I look up and see that the rest of the family has arrived. My mom has brought Ashlyn and Dylan in. We all go into her room and see her lying there.
A doctor walks in.
'Im afraid your going to have to say your goodbys'
We all look ar Deboradh who is struggling to breath.
'R-Riley deer. M-may I s-see my grandch-children one l-last time?'
I nod and hand them to her.
She smiles weakly.
'Oh my. Y-you two will grow up to be so amazing just like your parents. I love you so much' she says kissing them and handing them back to me. A tear rolls down my cheek as everyone says their final goodbys. I look at my mother in law.
'Riley deer. Come here'
I sit next to her on the bed.
'I want you to know that I love you very much. Ill never forget you. I will always protect you no matter what. Ill always be in your heart and Ill never leave your side. Just promise me one thing. Dont even worry about it'
I smile.
'So thats where James got it from'
'Yeah. I told him not to tell you'
I look up at him who smiles weakly at me.
'I love you Deboradh'
'Please. Call me mom'
'I love you mom' I say hugging her.
She smiles and kisses my head.
'I love you too Riley. Your the daughter I never had'
I smile weakly.
'James come here'
He sits next to her.
'My poor baby boy. Its all going to be okay. You have so many people to support you. But I guess you can be happy because I wont be here to seperate your fights with your brother!'
We smile.
'And I wont be able to embarrass you anymore'
'Even though I hated it, it was quiet amusing. I wouldnt change it for the world' he says.
'Thats my boy. Now you be a good boy and look after your kids. Dont let them forget me'
'I wont. I promise'
She looks at Emily.
'And tell your little one I love it very much'
'I will' she says placing her hand on her tiny bump.
She turns back to James.
'I love you son'
'I love you too mom. And say hi to dad for me. Tell him I miss him and I love him. Tell him we all do'
She nods.
'I will'
She looks at all of us.
'I just want to say that you guys have lightened up my world so much and made it the best possible place. I will never forget ye. I love ye all so much'
We all smile ar her.
'Keep safe you lot. And be good. And as I day...'
'DONT EVEN WORRY ABOUT IT!' we all say together.
She smiles.
'Excatly. I couldnt have chosen a better way to die than around all my family'
We smile.
'Goodbye. I love you all'
And with that she closes her eyes as her breathing slows and eventually stops. All that can be heard is the long sound of the motionless hear monitor that shows a single line.
Shes gone.
