"josh," he sighed, moving his hand to the petite boy's shoulder.

"you're so kind, love, you just warmed my heart."

"it was cold before?" josh asks sweet and innocently.

"no silly," tyler laughs, giving the smaller boy the ability to giggle with him. it's absolutely adoring.

"you just mean so much to me josh, you make my stomach bubble into butterflies, and i get excited when i see you," josh frowns, "you don't think i act like a kid too much? that's what the people at college say."

"josh you're so cute, no i don't, i love that quality about you as much as the others."

"you're blushing bub," he laughs.

"this is so sappy, ty, 'm love you but can we get s'methin' t' eat?" josh smiles, asking.

"love you too darling, let's go make brownies."

"yay!"

when josh was a little boy, he made brownies for whomever were to be upset, it was his own tradition.

tyler can remember the little seven year old boy struggling to reach the brownie mix at the top shelf. he'd become accustomed to helping him up each time as well, not that he minded.

right now the hazel eyed boy was siting on his best friend's shoulders and smiling big.

the last time josh made brownies was the first time he found his best friend crying to himself, almost a month ago. it was so saddening for the poor boy he never told tyler he saw him doing it again.

josh grabbed the brownie mix and got off the brunette's shoulders. they got the ingredients out, the hazel one's eyes crinkled in a smile when tyler made a funny joke or called eggs 'undeveloped chicken fetuses'.

any other person would call it out on them that they were in love, but they already knew that.

"thanks for the brownies boys!" mrs. dun cheered.

"no problem momma," josh sipped his milk. the two left tyler's house shortly after the treats finished and brought them to the younger's.

josh remembers when his mother would cry a ton, and he didn't understand why, but he didn't push it. he just made her brownies, only she gets whipped cream on top though.

"boys i'm just about to head to sleep, take care of josh while he's in your arms okay ty?" she declared.

"yes ma'am."

the two were cuddled in tyler's bed, listening to records and enjoying each other's company.

"i think it's time to flip it," josh sighs getting up.

"hey- i can get it love-"

"haha too late!" the hazel eyed boy giggled.

"i'm just gonna chase you then! then 'm gonna tickle you!"

joshua's face dropped and he started sprinting. the brunette quickly followed behind and tackled him on the bed.

"'mm nnooooo you got me!" he pouted. "yup! now i get to change it!"
"no fair," josh whined, "really? i'm in control of you right now see?" the taller one tickled the younger's foot just a touch.

"ahh fiinne!"
"haha," tyler mocked.

"you're mean," he says regardless of the blinding smile he's put on. "you're mean."

josh pauses, "i love you ty," he says with a sincere face.
"i love you joshie," tyler grins, seeing his best friend giggle like he did when they were five.

oh how the brunette wanted to kiss that grin off of his best friend's face.
