bliss

noun
1. perfect happiness; great joy.•••
there is an empty field at the park the two boys loved. the grass was mostly dead and scratchy but the couple didn't mind.
tyler lays down, sighing in contentment when he remembers when they exited the auditorium. when exams finished they'd graduated for a year, although the two had three more years. one less to do.
(a/n: that made no sense, but it meant that they graduated their second year but they have two more left of collage. their graduation hasn't happened yet, the ceremony i mean,, idk i'm not in college)
graduation wasn't until a couple of weeks and, you might've guessed the two hung out together a ton.
joshua lays his head on the other's lap looking into the clouds.
sighing softly the faded blue haired boy hums a little tune, sounding melancholic.
"regina?" tyler asks.
the boy nods and he feels his boyfriend laughing, "you ever listen to anything else?"
"why would i need to?" josh sasses.
abruptly the younger gets up, alarming his best friend and he runs to the other side of the field.
"joshie what're you doing?"
"'m getting some petals!" he replied running farther.
tyler furrows his brows then remembers when him and josh were little.
he sees josh with salty tears pouring absently down his cotton candy face.
"joshiebear wha's wrong?" tyler questions, feeling bitter at the thought of his best friend sad. he immediately rushed to his aid.
"tybunny this flower died," he frowns, more liquid flowing easily from his bubblegum cheeks.
with chubby fingers he grazes this white daisy, seemingly destroyed.
"someone stomped on it"
the brunette caresses his palm holding the velvet petal the other boy carried.
the white flower had become tinted with yellow, the pigments of the plant faded, and josh's heart melted.
he had planted this delicate creature with his father and mother.
his dad was gone now.
the plant wilted, although the seven year old boy cared for it since his dad disappeared.
he couldn't have left, hecouldnthavelefthecouldnthaveleftthem.
tyler massaged to the sobbing boy's scalp, his digits going through the satin curls of his rose hair, which had turned to a forgotten tint.
the brunette wiped his love's tears away, whispering assuring things.
the last petal rests within josh's hand which had been captured by his friend's.
that was their safe spot now, where they welcomed each other to cry.
heaven forbid they cry elsewhere.
they mustn't see you cry, because in society, people that cry are weak. and boys that cry? they were faggots.
and they were no faggots.
they were boys.

once josh reached the petal spot smiling. although the place was one of solitude and tears, he had been accustomed to visiting it daily. his boyfriend hadn't been to the place in at least eleven years, but he was surprised once he arrived.
his face formed a grin once he saw a subtle little garden of daisies, and tulips, and tiny roses.
"you grew these?" tyler asks with a shocked expression on his face.
the petite boy nodded, pride flowing through him like a sweet autumn breeze.
the brunette carefully graced the cloud-soft petals of his best friend's hard work. he went one by one, hand petting the angelic plants.
"these are wonderful, josh," tyler says sincerely.
"t-thank you," josh whispers, face contouring into the colors of the roses.
the taller grabs his boyfriend's hands and his face lights up in a huge smile. the sun was fading away, just like josh's ocean hair.
through the trees the sun gleamed and tyler kisses josh's silk lips. as he had done a million times by now.
it was still just like the first.

"joshua, you are my bliss. you are the holy grail, you are my saint. i love you."
"tyler, you are my love, you are the night to my day, you are the cloud that causes the rainbow. you are my everything. and i love you."
they hear a bark, and they remove their hands from each other's face. they laugh as they see a pedestrian walking their canine along the sidewalk.
the boys were laying on the grass, the itchy weed scraping their legs without care.
the little white and blue and red and rainbow colored dots that littered the night were absolutely astonishing, and the couple space out. literally.
josh slowly closed his eyes, and let his best friend sing to him, as he fell asleep.
he was in heaven.
he was in bliss.
