There was ringing in my ears, my vision was blurry, the pain was so intense that I couldn't tell what hurt worse, or what actually hurt.

I remember hearing the screeching of wheels, then a cool breeze against my suddenly cold body. I was stupid anyway for only wearing gym shorts and a long sleeved shirt when I walked outside in the first place.

"Liz!" I tried to respond, but all that came out was the groaning of pain. Next thing I knew, I was being shook, but before I could tell them to stop, that it hurt more, I blacked out.

My eyes flutter open to see many paramedics pushing me on a stretcher through a very white hallway, surely the hospital.

I instantly take notice of the oxygen mask, the IV already stuck in my wrist. When I blink, I open my eyes to see mum running alongside the gurney, this fearful look on her face. Using my last bit of strength, I lay my hand on hers, giving her a, hopefully, reassuring smile.

"T-Tom." I cough out, though it was barely audible.

"You're going to be alright, baby." Mum sobbed, holding onto my hand tightly. "My baby."

I black out again, the last thing I saw was mum being pushed away as I was pushed into the ER, sobbing as she collapsed to the ground, nurses there to help her.

Opening my eyes again, I see a doctor's face above my own.

"She's waking up, give her more anesthetics." Then I was out again.

My eyes flutter open, I take in a deep breath as I look around, slowly moving my head. I see mum sitting in the chair next to the hospital bed, reading on her tablet.

"Mum?" I croak out, my voice all raspy.

"Liz!" Mum exclaims, standing up immediately, grabbing my hand. "You're okay, you're in the hospital. You're going to be alright."

"T-Tom?" My throat hurts so bad, it's so raw.

"He's been in the waiting room since I called him."

"I-I want to se-see him. " cough. "N-Now."

"Liz-"

"N-Now." I wince at the pain in my throat.

Mum sighs before leaving a kiss on my forehead, walking out of my room.

I take this moment to look around me. The room has a couch and one chair, and there's a closed curtain cutting off half the room.

When I look down, I see a grey boot/cast thing on my left leg, I don't need to see it, but there's a wrapping around my torso. On my left hand is a white cast.

When the door opens, I try to sit up, but I groan. I stop immediately, laying back down, squeezing my eyes shut.

"Liz!" Hearing Tom's voice almost made me break down right then and there. I open my eyes to see Tom rushing to my side. He takes my hand into his, pulling the chair to the side of the bed. "They wouldn't let me in, they thought you wouldn't want me in here. How are you feeling? I've been worried sick. You're going to be okay, I'll take care of you, I promise."

I give him a small smile, pulling my hand out of his, running it through his hair. When I see a tear slip out from his eye, I immediately wipe it away with my finger.
