I splashed water on my face, and then washed my hands before I drank it. I couldn’t help being hygienic, even if we were in the middle on nowhere. The water tasted fresh and cold. To me, it was like pure honey and I couldn’t have been any more thankful for it.
“Where’s our next move to?” asked Kara, wiping her face with her clothes.
“We could go to the Hushwood forest?” suggested Isabella.
“What’s that?”
“It’s a forest that is full of plants and taller trees. We call it Hushwood because it’s very quiet and peaceful,” she said.
“Sure,” I said stepping forward. We soon got moving again and Violet and I walked at the same pace, moving each leg at the same time.
“Are we going to leave?” I heard her whisper.
“Huh?” I said, even though I had heard it the first time.
“Are we going to leave?” she repeated.
“Umm,” I said with hesitation. I couldn’t let her cry again so I answered with what she obviously wanted to hear.
“Of course,” I said smiling. “Soon, you’ll be at the police station, giving details on him, then they will find him and arrest him and he will never find you again.” I said.
“Thank you,” she whispered again.
“What do you mean?” I said.
“Most of them don’t want to talk to me and comfort me; I’m usually the odd one out.” She said sighing. I looked in her eyes. You could tell she wanted someone to share her feelings with.
“Tell me your story, I’ll listen,” I said quoting one of my favorite stop-bullying lines.
“I can’t help it. I guess some people are just born with it. They can mess up and everyone will laugh with them, whereas if I’d do that, they wouldn’t laugh with me, but at me. They can go places, looking like trash, yet no one turns a hair, but if I go places, looking like rubbish, they all snigger and raise their eyebrows at me.” she said letting her emotions out as she started to cry.
“Please don’t cry, you’re amazing in every way. You have beautiful, big brown eyes and stunning moose brown hair.” I said hugging her.
This girl obviously doesn’t know how pretty she is. I thought.
“C’mon let’s catch up with the rest,” I said letting her go and running up to the girls.
We ran up to them and they were crouched down behind some sort of bush.
“Hey guys, wha-“I said as I looked at them, but before I could finish, Isabella hushed me. She gestured for me to sit down and so I decided it would be clever to crouch down next to the girls, and so I pulled down Violet with me.
“Why are we crouching down?” I whispered to Kara, very quietly.
“Something’s there,” she whispered back.
