Chapter 8 - crazy fans

"So, it's Jack's birthday in two weeks and I want to surprise him." AJ was currently on the phone to me.

"Right, what's your plan?" I asked.

"I want you to come to our fan meeting in Shanghai. We can pay for your plane ticket and accommodation and anything else you need because I know Jack would love you to be there on his birthday. By the way, this was also our manager's idea." He explained.

Flying to China? That was a long trip but for Jack it was going to be worth it.

"Sounds good, plus I did do an A-level in Chinese, so I should be set on the language front. Also, my grandmother was Chinese so I will basically be with my people." I joked.

"Thank you so much, I just hope Jack doesn't burst into tears." He chuckled. "That would be really embarrassing for him and us."

"As long as I don't cry, I'm sure he won't cry either." I laughed. "But I can't promise no tears."

"The plan is, we'll fly you in two days before our fan meeting, I'll come get you at the airport and drop you off at your hotel, you can go around Shanghai shopping and if one of us can join you, we'll make plans but I don't want Jack so be suspicious so I won't be able to speak to you a lot so the guys and I will take turns talking to you.

"Then on the day of the fan meet, we're planning to get four fans up to do activities with us and we'll set it up so Jack can only pick your number and since he's short sighted and doesn't like wearing glasses, he won't know he picked you until you get up on stage then we'll do the activities and you'll be his partner.

"After the fan meeting, we'll take you backstage where you and Jack can properly greet each other. Does that sound okay?"

"Yup." I couldn't hold back my excitement. I would finally be able to see Jack again and I was determined not to cry.

"Suzy!" AJ greeted me with a hug at the airport.

"AJ!" I hugged him back.

"I missed you." He pulled away. He was completely unrecognisable, at least from a non-fan point of view. He was wearing a face mask and cap as well as being dressed like a tourist. Clearly not in his normal daily wear.

"I missed you too. It's so damn hot." I said while panting. I was clearly over dressed but the plane was so cold.

I was wearing black jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt while in Shanghai where it was 34 degrees.

"Let me go change quickly before I die from the heat."

I quickly got dressed into an off the shoulder white summer dress.

"Wow, now I know what Jack sees in you."

"What do you mean? Was my personality not charming enough?"

"No that's not what-"

"I'm messing with you AJ." I laughed.

"I knew that." He scratched the back of his head while he fake laughed.

"Come on let's go."

"So here's your room, I'll let you settle down and you can call me whenever you're ready."

"Are you guys staying in the same hotel?" Just the thought of me being so close to Jack got me excited.

"Yes we are, we're on the 15th floor but the guys aren't there today, since Johnny and Ren knew you were coming, they decided to take Jack out in case he accidentally bumped into you while you were walking around the hotel. I just faked an illness so I could stay behind and spend the day with you."
