Chapter 20 - awake

"Suzy?"

I smiled. Jackson's voice rang through my ears.

"Doctor! She's awake!" He shouted.

"Jack I love you too." I said weakly.

I heard everything he had said for the past couple of months. Although I couldn't reply, I heard him tell me the weather everyday, how his day went, what he did but most importantly I heard how he never hurt me.

"Suzy.." He was crying.

"Don't cry." I said and wiped his tears. "You look ugly when you cry."

He laughed sadly.

"Miss Bennett, we're glad to see you're awake, how are you feeling?" The doctor asked me.

"I'm fine, a little thirsty though." I said.

"I'll go get water." Jackson jumped up and went to the sink to get me a cup of water.

"Thank you."

He helped me sit up and fed me the water.

"You will go through a couple more tests and if everything is okay, you'll be free to get home after a week." The doctor told me.

"Thank you." I felt so much better after some water.

"I'll leave you two to catch up and I'll come back after a while to run some tests."

"Thank you so much doc." Jack bowed politely.

"Come here." I scooted over on the hospital bed to let him sit next to me.

"You forgive me?" He hesitated.

"Of course. I heard everything." I said,

He joined me in bed and I rested my head on his shoulder.

"I missed you." I said. "You've suffered a lot because of me."

"No, you suffered more. It was my fault you got hurt. You didn't do anything wrong."

"You have no idea how much I wish I could've replied to you when you spoke to me everyday. Your singing seriously cheered me up, it was always the highlight of my day." I felt his warmth against me and I had never felt so relaxed.

We had been separated for months and I finally got to touch him again.

"I'm so glad you're okay. I love you so much." He smiled and kissed my forehead.

"I'm glad you're here." I closed my eyes and fell asleep on his shoulder.

-1 week later-

"Welcome home!" Cruel Zero and Jess, Mark and their newborn were all in my house when I finally got released from the hospital.

Jackson took me home and I was so happy to see all the familiar faces.

"I missed you so much!" Jess ran to me.

"I'm so sorry I missed the birth of your baby." I looked down at the baby girl, Sunny. "You are the cutest baby in the world!"

I took her in my arms despite Mark saying it was a bad idea.

"Oh? She's not crying?" Mark said with surprise.

"Of course she's not. She likes pretty people." Jess laughed.

"You're so cute." I rocked her in my arms.

"You're looking very good Suzy." Johnny said.

"Thank you. I'm just happy to be home." I said and handed Sunny back to Jess.
