youngjae was running late.

he knew he could blame the monday morning traffic, or his bus that arrived twelve minutes behind schedule, or maybe just the fact that his mom and his older brother couldn't accept the reality that the younger boy was moving out.

he was warned to not bring too much with him, and so somehow; youngjae managed to pack a well-sized suitcase with his clothes and shoes, accompanied by a backpack that held smaller things like chargers and school stuff.

it was nine in the morning when youngjae has finally made it to his destined building. presenting his pass as he walked in with approval; he was met with yugyeom's presence waiting for him at the reception. jaebum solemnly stood by his side.

"good morning," youngjae waved at them with a smile.

yugyeom happily waved back, his eyes bright, while jaebum scoffed, "you're late."

taken aback by such a change of mood, youngjae stuttered, "—sorry, i was just—"

"it's fine," he mumbled, "just don't let it become a habit," with that, he turned and made his way down one of the halls.

yugyeom shrugged his shoulders, "he's not always like this, he's a good leader, strict at times; but don't let that set you off."

youngjae nodded, pushing away the sudden heart-clenched moment as he followed jaebum with the tall boy by his side.

he recognised the dance practice wing that they staggered through, seconds later stopping by one of the doors at the end of the corridor.

jaebum turned back around to face the newly arrived boy, "okay, so youngjae—" he found himself at a loss of words. "please understand that for us — it's always been the six of us, or well originally just me and jinyoung but that's not the point. we work extremely hard to get where we are now, as a leader, i expect the same dedication from you too. the rest of the members will introduce themselves to you now, they're really excited to meet you. but i do warn you, they tend to scream a lot—"

youngjae stiffled a laugh while yugyeom nodded his head gravely.

"—and i just want you to become a part of us because from now on we're all a family."

with a smile, jaebum patted the younger's head and from then on, youngjae forgot that the older boy was nationwide famous as jb from jj project. because it didn't matter, as for he was introduced to a different side of him — a side that he'll be exposed to for the rest of his life.

entering the room, youngjae noted the three walls of mirrors encircling it; and then the leftover side was founded as a home to a sofa and a stereo system. on the floor, a group of five boys sat in a somewhat circle.

one of them was lying face down, body like a starfish.

jaebum cleared his throat once they walked in, "guys, as you know — this is choi youngjae, the newest member of got7," he had his arm around youngjae who just smiled shyly and waved his hand.

a chorus of "hi's" and "hello's" and "oh my god he's not that bad" (jackson) sounded in reply. and as youngjae dropped his bag and suitcase by the doorway, he followed yugyeom and jaebum to the centre of the room and timidly sat beside them. a moment didn't pass as one of the boys eagerly slid towards youngjae and began to introduce himself and the rest of them.

"hi, i'm the hottest member of the group, but you can call me jackson—"

there was a mutter of complaints from behind him.

"—anyways. i'll introduce everyone in age order," he paused, letting youngjae to cop on, "so you obviously know yugyeom," he motioned at the younger boy, "the tall maknae child who can't do aegyo even if his life was depending on it—"

yugyeom didn't even bother to stop him at this point.

"—then there's bambam," he continued loudly, gesturing at the starfish boy who now sat up, "he's thai, and obviously bambam is not his real name but no one can pronounce, or remember, his real name so just call him bambam—" jackson shrugged.

bambam wanted to add more to his description but the older boy was already moving on.

"—then, you're next in the chain, want to say something about yourself?" jackson stopped, facing youngjae with innocent eyes.

bombarded, the boy stuttered, "well um— i play the piano, i love dogs, and people tend to tell me that i have a very loud laugh—?"

jackson nodded his head, "—respectable. now onto jinyoung, which i'm guessing you'd know from his outstanding rap skills and tremendous hair quiff that caused death all over the country, since it was so horrid—"

"—hey!" jinyoung protested.

"—i'm just kidding," jackson laughed as jinyoung slapped the back of his head, "—you can obviously tell he's the mom of the group."

jinyoung didn't deny the title.

"—then it's me, jackson wang, the visual and face of this hopeless assemble. originally from hong kong, former athlete and—"

"—an annoying pain in the ass," jinyoung retorted and rolled his eyes, getting even with the older boy who just drew his lips into a thin line.

"—moving onwards!" jackson proceeded with his screaming tactics, "now we have jaebum-hyung, our fierce leader who makes us repeat the same choreography a hundred times until we pass out. as a hobby, he wakes us up using pots and pans—"

jaebum sighed, "are you going to whine about it all your life?"

"—i'll see," jackson mumbled with a scoff, "—and so, last but not least," he pointed at the handsome boy, "very quiet, very good looking, very tall, that's mark tuan."

"that was very informative, jackson," the group just looked at him.

"i know right, ain't i amazing?"

then and there, youngjae somewhy did feel like he just got a home.
