throughout the day, youngjae was in and out of the dance studio where the rest of the members practiced for hours straight on. unlike them, he had to attend individual choreography classes so that he could be at a standard level before beginning to practice with the rest of the crew.

it annoyed him to be separated already, but he knew it was for the best, since youngjae was not born a dancer. at all.

even with the monthly evaluation coming up quite soon, jaebum insisted that youngjae should participate along with them; even though it would require a lot of effort on everyone's behalves.

and so once youngjae came back, they began to change positions in the choreography (though placing the boy merely at the back for obvious reasons) and teaching him the dance. on the first day, no one pushed him, just kept supporting his attempts.

when it was lunch, jinyoung and jaebum headed towards the cafeteria with two other trainees, sungjin and wonpil.

jackson followed them shortly as youngjae stayed behind in the studio to go over the choreography with bambam and yugyeom helping him out.

and finally, mark decided to take a nap.

"five, six, seven, eight—" yugyeom counted in, repeating the series of steps over and over. bambam moved in sync with the younger boy, their feet synchronising with each beat. youngjae tripped over his own legs.

after many more goes, bambam rested on the wooden surface of the floor, "just please tell me you're better at singing than you are at dancing," he laughed.

youngjae was too busy concentrating on his next step to answer the other's question. "trust me and don't give up on him," yugyeom replied instead.

bambam chuckled, flopping stomach-down onto the floor to have a full on stretch, yugyeom joining him moments later by taking a seat on his back.

"i'm sorry for holding you up—" youngjae muttered, panting after many tiring attempts.

"it's okay," bambam handed him a bottle of water as the boy dropped down beside them, "you're working hard and that's what matters."

"thanks," youngjae smiled at the younger, "it still seems like a dream though," he sighed.

with a couple more words and water bottle throwing, the trio shuffled mark awake and together went down to the cafeteria to grab some lunch before their vocal orientation.

they merely took their seats beside the other members and youngjae was orderly introduced to a couple of unfamilar faces.

sungjin and wonpil, jyp trainees — in line to debut in a band called 5live.

next to youngjae, jaebum lead the conversation in relation to rumors that went around the building, discussing the ridiculousness of it all. the younger boy didn't participate much in their talk as he slowly zoned out and let himself rest for a small while.

he didn't even realise that he lay his head onto the table and merely drifted off to sleep. after all, the tiring day was getting to him.

to youngjae; it felt like timeless moments until jaebum put his hand on his back to shake him awake. "—c'mon, lunch is over," he urged.

lifting up his head with half drooping eyes, youngjae realised that the rest of his newly accompanied friends were already parting the vacant room. so with a sniffling yawn, he stumbled upwards and followed jaebum towards their scheduled class.

it was a small room, with a couple of instruments sitting neatly by a wall as chairs encircled the centre. at the top of the room, sat a woman that youngjae recognised, she was a judge at his audition in the previous week.

"how are you doing today?" she asked the group as they arrived, a small smile lingering on her lips. there was a reply of polite words and bows as everyone took a seat.

she then introduced herself to youngjae who sat in between yugyeom and jackson. "we've met before, but that aside, i'm your vocal coordinator."

with a nod, youngjae smiled and the small room erupted into a series of warming up excercises. the rapper line were given a chain of tongue twisters on repeat as they went in order, and the vocal-specialised members hummed along with the keys of the piano as it rose in semitones almost three octaves up.

to say it was difficult was an understatement, but that's why they attended training all day, everyday.

with that accomplishment, the teacher proceeded with her class as she gave out pages of lyrics to each person. it was an infinite song from a couple years aback, btd (before the down).

she let it play in the background as she assigned everyone their parts. it opened with yugyeom, followed by jinyoung as they overlapped. the pre-chorus belonged to jaebum, and the first rap segment was given to mark. the next rap then was split between bambam and jackson towards the end.

folding her arms, the teacher looked at the group, "now, as for you have a new member; we have decided to try out this layout where two main vocals share the chorus. therefore, youngjae and jaebum. i admit, this will be difficult to master or grasp at first, but believe me when i say that the result will be outstanding."

youngjae looked at jaebum in front of him who honestly looked a bit lost, but as he stuttered back to reality — he chuckled, "alright, let's give this a shot."
