Darkness.
That was the first thing Rin saw. She was surrounded by nothing but darkness, vast darkness. She wondered where she was, maybe she was dead, maybe she had actually died. But wasn't that meant to be impossible? She was immortal. Doomed to walk the lands, carrying her sins and to be never forgiven for it. She didn't understand at all.
Then as she stared at the darkness she realized flower petals were floating from behind and past her. She turned around to see a faint light coming from the distance. She made her way towards it and as she came closer to the light, she saw a cherry tree. Its Flowers had blossomed and the pink petals were gently floating with the wind that wasn't there. They just fell and floated away.
A twinge of pain came soothing out of her left forearm and she clutched it with her right hand. She frowned a little when she realized that she was not wearing the clothes she had on earlier. As she examined herself, she saw that she was wearing only a simple sleeveless red dress that came just below her knee. It made a striking contrast against her pale apple blossom skin, her long dark blue hair with her ice cold blue eyes. The material was smooth and soft, it was fitted at the top and elegantly flowed down the bottom. She also realized she was in her original 17 year old body.
"Ahh!" She flinched at the same twinge of pain from her left forearm.
She looked down at her left forearm and saw the tattoo of the flower iris glowing against her skin. Her eyes narrowed, this only happened when he was around.
Then just as she thought that a voice spoke out.
"The colour red suits you." His voice, deep and husky.
It sent chills down Rins spine, not sure if it was good or bad. But it was always like that when it came to him. She was never sure if he was good or bad. One minute he was good then the next bad.
"I never remember giving you permission to dress me." Rin said calmly as she looked up at him.
There, leaning against the cherry tree was a young man, who looked to be around 18-19 years old and had a tall, thin but muscular build. He was wearing a white kimono that was loosely wrapped around his body. The left side of his collar bone and his smooth stomach muscles were exposed as the cloth hung lose He had snow white wavy hair that came to his shoulder and a creamy skin complexion. He had a strong jaw line with a sharp nose and sharp cheek bones that highlighted his face. He also had three ear piercings on his right ear. One at the top and two at the bottom. But the most striking feature was his eyes. Thin long white eye lashes surrounded those eyes and their colours always changing depending on his mood. But no matter what colour they were, those eyes were always penetrating, looking into your soul no matter how much you tried to hide it.
He had a smirk etched in that god like face of his as he stood there, smoking a pipe and looking at Rin with a pink haze in his eyes.
"Don't be so sour. It suits you and it been a while since we last saw each other." He emptied out the smoking pipe and put it into his sleeves. Then he slowly and gracefully came towards her until he was right in front of her.
