They walked inside and waited to get seated. When they came in they smelled steak, soup and other delicious foods. Carvington looked nervous.
"Dude calm down."Lucas said."There's nothing to be afraid of."Carvington looked down.
"You're right" he said.
"I'm what now?"
"You're right. You act like no one has said that to you before."
"I like being right and I just feel different today like someone's watching me."
"Really! Don't worry I'll help if someone jumps through the window."Then Carvington started to laugh.
"Dude it's not funny it feels weird."
"Look what I said is true I got your back." Carvington said with a smile on his face.
"Seriously?"
"Of course unlike some people." He looked at Leonardo. His green eyes looked distant as he looked out the window.
"Leo!" Lucas yelled.
"Uh, what I'm busy!"Yelled Leonardo.
"Busy doing what!"
"I look through windows"
"Why?!"
"I daydream."
Then Lucas got quiet. coughed Carvington. Then Lucas and Carvington laughed.
Ring, Ring, Ring. "Is that me?" Lucas asked as he reached for his pocket.
"No, it's me."Carvington said. He looked at his phone."I need to take this." then he got up. "Goytay" was the last words they heard him say. It sounded like he was saying toy but with a g instead of a t, and it sounded like tay like in take.
"What did he say?"Leonardo asked."I never heard a language like that before."
"Easy he said hello."Lucas said.
"How do you know?"Leonardo asked.
"I don't know." Lucas replied "I'm asking him when he comes back."Lucas said still trying to figure out why he said that meant hello. While they waited their food came. Then Carvington came back.
"Okay I'm back. What did I miss?"Carvington asked, as he sat down.
"Nothing," Lucas said. "Hey dude what does that word you said mean."
"What word?"Carvington asked cheerfully.
"Goytay."Leonardo said.
Carvington froze with his hand holding a fork with fish on it. Then he put it down.
"Can you guys do me a favor and NEVER say that word again and I'll tell you what it means." Carvington said.
"Does it mean underwear?"Leonardo asked.
"No" Carvington said disgusted.
"Does it mean sugar?"Marcus asked.
"No buddy."Carvington said.
"Hey why does he get a buddy? Aren't we buddies!?"Leonardo said.
"Because he's six." Carvington said.
"What about you Lana?"
"I'm clueless."Lana said.
"Mrs.T?"Carvington said.
"I don't know." she said.
"Lucas?"He said.
"Well, no it's stupid."Lucas hesitated.
"Dude, just say it."Carvington said. Then he put a piece of fish in his mouth.
"Does it mean hello?"Lucas asked. Carvington started coughing.
"Dude, are you okay?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah, it went down the wrong thing, what did you say I didn't hear you?"Carvington said.
"Hello, but I know its wrong I'm not the smartest guy in the universe."Lucas asked.
"Your right."He answered smiling. "Do you know what language it is?"
"No, I don't even know why I said it meant hello. Maybe it's just because when you pick up the phone you say hello." Lucas said. They all finished their food and started talking about things.
"Do any of you want desert?"Mrs.Tathern asked.
"No." they all said.
"Okay then let's go." She said. She paid the bill and then they got in the car and left.
