"I can't believe he choose his stupid pride over me!" Jessica yelled. She was sitting in the back seat of her brother's car. She was in the middle seat. Leonardo and Carvington sat next to her. Jessica's brother was driving. Raindrops tapped on the windows.

"I can't believe your brother punched him." Carvington said.

"He deserved it after what he did to you. Right David?" Jessica asked her brother.

"No, I over reacted." David said.

"No, you didn't. Carv didn't he deserve it?" She asked

"No," Carvington said.

"Shut up," she yelled. "Why aren't you mad? I would be pretty upset if that happened to me."

"I'm just glad that no one told him to stay away from me." Carvington said. Leonardo and Jessica stared at him.

"What?" Carvington asked.

"Why would someone tell Lucas to stay away from you?" Leonardo asked.

"You're a nice guy. You have great grades and you stick up for your friends." Jessica added.

"Believe it or not, there are people who don't like me. Some think I'm a bad influence." Carvington said.

"Why would anyone think you're a bad influence?" David asked. "From what I heard about you you're the complete opposite."

"So what happened Jessica?" Carvington asked.

"Yeah so I'm like, why did you do that to Carvington? And he's like, because it will be good for him and bla bla bla. Then he chooses pride over me. Over me. He's such a jerk." Jessica said.

"No he's not," Carvington said.

"Shut up. Stop standing up for that jerk." Jessica said.

"Jessica we know." Leonardo said.

"Know what?" Jessica asked.

"That you like Lucas." Leonardo said.

Jessica's cheeks turned red. "I don't like him!" Jessica yelled. Leonardo and Carvington gave her a look. "Is it that obvious?" Leonardo and Carvington nodded.

"Lucky you," David said sarcastic.

"Why am I lucky?" Jessica asked.

"You know that you're not dating until your thirty. Right?" David said.

"That's so unfair. You're in your eighteen and you dated like twenty girls." Jessica complained.

"Exactly, I'm trying to protect you from guys like me." David said.

"Whatever."

Jessica and Leonardo stared at Carvington. "What?" He asked.

"You're really quiet today." Leonardo said.

"So,"

"So, what's on your mind?" Leonardo asked.

"Nothing," Carvington sighed.

"Tell us." David said.

Carvington sighed. "Fine, if you really want to know. It's my mom."

"What's wrong with your mom?" David asked.

"She's sick," Carvington sighed as they stopped at a red light. Carvington reached inside his pocket and pulled out a pair of black sunglasses. He put the glasses on.

"Do you want me to take you home since you're so worried?" David asked.

"I can't!" Carvington yelled. Everyone jumped. Carvington took deep breaths. "Sorry," Carvington sighed. The light turned green and David drove.

"Are you okay?" David asked.

"Yeah," Carvington said.

"Why do you have sunglasses on?" David asked.

"Why are you asking so many questions?" Carvington asked.

"He's just wondering why you're wearing sunglasses when it's raining." Leonardo said.

"I thought he was wondering why I yelled I can't." Carvington said calmly.

"Why did you yell I can't?" David asked.

"Because my parents live on the other side of the country." Carvington replied.

"Why don't you just visit them?"

"Don't you think I would if I could?" The car got quiet. The only sound was the tap of the rain hitting the window.

"How close are we to the mall?" Jessica asked.

"We're almost there." David responded. Carvington moaned. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing I'm fine." Carvington said. They saw a big building.

"We're here," David said as he pulled into the car packed parking lot.

"Thanks for the ride." Jessica said as she slid out the car after Leonardo. Her brown hair was soaked. Carvington sat in the car.

"Here's an umbrella." David said as he handed Jessica a black umbrella. He turned and looked at Carvington with his brown eyes. "Are you staying in?"

"No," Carvington said as he started sliding out of the car. When he stood outside he moaned and leaned against the car. "I'm fine," He said as he got of the car. Jessica opened the umbrella and they all got under it. They started walking towards the entrance, stepping over puddles. David started driving off when Carvington collapsed. He fell into puddles soaking him even more.

"Oh my gosh!" Jessica yelled as she got next to Carvington. Leonardo sat next to her. David drove next to them and got out of the car.

"We need to take him to the hospital." Leonardo said.

"You and David will put him in the car, and I'll drive." Jessica said as she stood up.

"You're not driving, I am." David said. He and Leonardo lifted Carvington up and put him in the back seat of the car. Then he slid into the driver's seat while the other sat in the back. David started to drive. Jessica took off his sunglasses and put them in her pocket.

"My parents," He mumbled.

"Carv get up," Jessica yelled as she shook him. But he didn't respond. "Leo you know about first aid and stuff like that."

"Yeah, he's breathing evenly and he has a steady heartbeat." Leonardo said. "Maybe he wants us to call his parents."

"We have to find his phone first," Jessica said, "Unless you have their number?"

"I'll check the front." Leonardo said. He reached into one of the pockets. Jessica lifted the back of his shirt and gasped.

"Since when does Carv carry around knives?" Jessica asked as she held upa small sharp knife.
