(pic of the water goddess Siera)
Shadow's pov:
"Siera?"
"yes child?"
"to be honest I never stopped wondering why you chose me and not a human to be your host" in the 'real' world I was sitting on the roof of a house, legs crossed with my fist against each other and eye closed, I heard and felt but my mind was back in the landscape of the white sand and black sky where I met mother and again was currently laying on my back and talking to Siera.
"I don't know" she said "I was just attracted to you and knew you would be the best choice"
"and why?"
"you are calm and already went through a training similar to what you needed to control the water with your mothers training, your father would have made you more suitable for fire control"
"so you only chose me out of pure convenience" it wasn't a question but a fact, I picked up a fist full of sand and let it slowly fall on my face, as this is a place in my own mind the sand here didn't work like outside so I couldn't really get it in my eyes even if I tried and my mind would want it.
"yes" she said and I sighed "at first yes but I don't regret choosing you"
"so....... friends like always"
"like always"
I smiled at the sky, I didn't see Siera as she was floating/sitting in the air behind me, I heard her chuckle.
"Shadow!" I heard and opened my eyes, back on the rooftop and looked down.
"hello Emma" I said and hoped down, landing in front of her, it was still quite early.
"Lian and the other elders want our help yet again" she said.
"so a new quest" I said and she nodded, at least we got paid to do quests, the currency changed a depending on which part of the land you were but there was a currency that was used by all and that was small gems, they had a lot of different colours but all were the same value (yes it's inspired from fairy tale so don't ask, I'm looking at you one person, you know who you are)
"fairy money or gems?" I asked.
"I said gems would be best because we don't know if we'll come to a fairy village in this one year"
"alright"
we walked over to the master hut with the elders already there and surprisingly a few other fairies and Hank, all armed.
"welcome children, we will ask your help for something really special" an elder said.
"yes what is it?" Emma said, voicing my thoughts.
"these fairies are all young warriors and they need to go on their first hunt"
"what is that?" I chimed in.
"that, my friend, is a ritual, every warrior goes out in the wild and need to hunt down an animal of their choosing with all the knowledge they have and can't come back until then, normally it was dragons but a pact is a pact and we'll leave them alone so now it falls down to either a light wolf or a dark wolf" she said and I frowned.
"and what are we supposed to do?"
"be there with them, light and dark wolf hunt in packs unlike dragons so they are not prepared well to fight them for a first hunt"
"can't it be pushed back?"
"no" was all Lian said.
"Emma your knife" I asked, pulling out my katana would be useless for what I want to do. she looked at me and did as told, guessing what I was going to do.
