Shadow's pov:

I finished packing my things when I heard knocking on my door. my hand instantly went to my katana as I heard Cup and Pup growling outside, no one ever comes to see me.

"g-good doggies!" I heard the panicked voice, probably of one of the girls send on the quest hunt like me.

"down" I told my wolves as I opened the door, they looked at me and walked inside leaving me with the girl.

she had a little past shoulder length red hair with blue eyes, she had a bow strapped on her back and I'm almost totally sure she's 50% human and 50% elf because of her fair skin and slightly pointed ears but I could tell there was something more, she wore brown boot, brown pant, black tank top and a light brown jacket.

"yes?" I asked, she looked hesitant to speak.

"the principal wants us to stick together.... like a team.... working together" she said making me tsk, they ignore me for years, the teachers let them and now I'm forced to work with someone on something that's supposed to be done alone and she looks older than me so didn't she already do this thing?

I tsk again and went inside, leaving the door open for her.

"try to be a little civil" Siera said.

"whatever, you know what I went through"

"you'll need to put that aside for a year and work with her or at least until the principal calls us back for the tournament"

Emma's pov:

I felt awkward, standing in the doorway of someone I didn't even talk to for years and now we were going to be together for a year and doing quests.

I was really surprised when the principal told us about her heritage, that she's like those beast creatures, an angel demon hybrid is impossible....

I spotted a medallion around her neck and froze almost immediately.

there's a myth of someone capable of making any creature their slave by simply talking to them, with the cruel power darkness, it was said they were cruel and love pain, a tyrant and they had a daughter with the light side, the daughter was like them, a monster.

I think she noticed my staring and sudden fear and sighed and hid the medallion in her hoodie.

"I'm not like father" she grumbled.

"wha?"

"I know that look, I'm not like father, I'm the daughter of both sides, half and half, not white nor black" she sighed at the end and laid her head on her hands with her elbows resting on a table, she didn't look really happy.

"sorry" I said as I looked around her apartment, the top of the walls where black and faded to white towards the bottom and everything had a white or black counterpart in here or it was grey.... this light and dark stuff is really important to her.

"ready to leave or not?" she asked.

"oh y-yeah" I said as the white and black wolf walked out passed me, it was still surprising to see a light wolf and a dark wolf not killing each other like normally.

we walked to the meeting point where all of us will be send from and I noticed everyone had a partner with them.... at least we are not the only ones....

we were send west; the only way I didn't want to go as it was towards the home of the elf.

I may be human and elf but my dad was a vampire, at least I didn't have the need to drink blood but I still could if I wanted, elves kicked me out and didn't let me see my family again.
