Last Weekend Before School

When I wake up, it is almost lunch time, ugh, my head hurts. Guess I stared at my phone too much.

I check iMessages to see if Camila replied me, she didn't. But someone else wrote me. A group chat with Normani and Dinah in it. Apparently they are hanging out today, and I missed their offer.

Whatever, like I care.

"Lauren!" comes a yell from downstairs. Bet it's my mom.

"Yeah?" I call back.

"Come eat breakfast we're going out!" I freeze.

"WHAT?" I go open the door. "Where are we going?"

"To one of my old classmate's house, we got in touch recently and decided to meet up." she says way more clearly.

"Why do I have to go?" I ask as I chill down and turn back around to my room.

"Because it's a family meet up, you're a Jauregui aren't you?" she asks waiting for my response, "Just pretty yourself and come down, quickly please." she says as I ignore her.

"Ugh, fine!" I say, closing the door behind me.

After about 20 minutes, I am ready and down the stairs I go.

Taylor, my sister, follows behind me all made up, as Chris on the other hand is already eating a sandwich down at the dining table. How are boys so easily made up? They literally don't need anything on their face to look good.

After a bowl of cereal within 10 minutes, we all get into our jeep and are heading towards a complete stranger's house to me.

Recently, I haven't been in the mood to meeting new people and shit, so literally the whole ride there, I stare out the window with my music plugged in my ears. The same lyrics just play over and over again.

As I'm about to fall asleep, my mom wakes me up with an extra information, that I DID. NOT. even ask for. Ugh, mom, whatever you do now annoys me, please just shut the fuck up.

"Honey? You know my friend also has a daughter? She's even similar to your age, I think." says she.

"Oh cool" I say leaning back to the seat, relaxing myself with a sigh.

My dad looks over the mirror to see if everything is alright with me, our eyes meet and he focuses back on the road.

"How long do we have left?" asks Chris annoyed.

"About 10 minutes" says my mom checking the map on her phone.

Then all three teenagers at the back huff at that same time.

When we are finally there, I get out the car and fix my clothes and put away my earphones. Someone comes out the door to greet us, awkwardly no one moves until mom screams an unfamiliar name and runs towards her with her hands out for a hug.

My mom then introduces us all and her friend calls out her family. I see a girl and a boy walk out with possibly their dad. All with a smile on their face. The girl doesn't seem familiar at all, but she sure is pretty.

We do the same and every one of us shake everyone else's hands other than our own family. Man there are a lot of people to meet. I see a grill in their garden from where we are standing, yay meat.

When we all go inside, everyone is basically separated into groups. Me and the girl, Chris and the boy, my dad with theirs, and Taylor is with both our moms.

"Hi" says the girl again, officially, with a really nice smile.

"Hi, I'm Lauren." I say as I introduce myself.

"I'm Lucy. It's nice to meet you" she smiles again.

I do the same, "yeah, you too"

Then we learn a bit more about each other, until my mom calls my name and commands me to go to her.

"Yeah, she's a straight A student, I'm very proud of her." she says, bragging about me, what the fuck mom. You are not proud, you felt disgusted when I came out to you, how dare you say that just to shine.

I ignore the smiles they change and say "Hi, miss..."

"Vives, hi Lauren it's nice to meet you." says Mrs. Vives

"Thanks, you too" I say with a smile.

Then Lucy comes from behind me, really really close behind almost touching. It makes me feel a bit weird. I make an excuse to move, "umm, Lucy? Where is the bathroom?" Now I'm facing her.

She points the way and I go in there to check the mirror, fix my hair, then out I go. Then I see Lucy waiting for me. I smile to her. Awkward.

When we finally go out to the garden, my jaw almost drops. They got a hella of a pool out here, I didn't even see it from outside. "Woah" I say with Lucy by my side.

"Haha I know, same reaction every time." she says

"Do you swim often?" I ask, looking at her,

"Uhh, no I don't like my body." She says as I scan her from head to toe.

"What? You're kidding right?" I say with my brows raised, "You got a pretty face and a really beautiful body." I say, honestly.

She looks away to hide her blush, and mumbles out a "thanks"

"Shit, I forgot to bring my swimming clothes." I curse.

"No prob, you can use mine." She grabs my hand and brings me to her room and throws me a pair of bikini.

I freeze in shock as she leaves me in her room to change. I walk out to ask, "Are you going to swim too?"

"Uhh, if you want me to, maybe." she says with a cute smile, that makes me think of Camila.

Camila. I wonder if she replied me yet.
