"Umm mom I thought you said I can't date, so I didn't really look for one." I say.

She looks at me, "Honey~ who says you have to date your prom date?"

"Oh, ok then my date is Camila." They both freeze and I keep walking until I stop to wait for them, "what?" I say to my mom.

Camila slowly moves behind me, clearly doesn't want to get in the middle of this.

"We're just going as friends mom, chill." I say to my mom.

"Okay, we're gonna talk about this later, when's the prom again?" she finally continues walking.

"Next Friday, after our graduation exam." Ouch just got reminded, Camila and I got a lot to review for.

"Oh! Are you guys ready for it?" my mom continues speaking.

"I am! Lauren has helped me so much with my grades." says Camila with her excited voice.

"Really? Aww, that's nice of her." my mom says as she stares at me. I give her an awkward smile.

We get in the car and the conversation just keeps on going.

"Lauren, you? All ready? You're a straight A student aren't ya?"

"I'm ready mom, now please put on some music."  I say.

Camila rests her head on my shoulder, then my mom leaves me alone after seeing it. As Capsize by FRENSHIP is playing, I think about my life.

I can't believe just how fast time goes. I've turned so happy this past year, and mostly because of Camila.

I can't believe I'm almost graduating middle school, and soon entering High school. I don't even know where to go, am I staying here? Where is Camila going?

In about a month, Camila and I won't be going to school any more, meaning we won't have everyday to hang out and drink milk tea together.

I hope we will still keep in touch.

When we arrive my house, my mom asks Camila, "Camila, would you like me to send you home?"

"That would be really nice, yes please." Camila answers.

I sit still because I want to when my mom is expecting me to get out.

When we arrive Camila's house, I hug her goodbye, obviously we can't kiss.

"Bye Lauren" she whispers and before she gets out she cries, "Bye Ms. Jauregui!" with a wave. My mom does the same and starts driving.

"Is she the girl I made you break up with?" she suddenly asks.

I hesitate, "yes"

"I'm so sorry, honey. I can see how much you love her, this is so unfair of me."

"Thanks for understanding, it is mom."

"Ok, tell you what, if you get in to this high school, you can date whoever you want."

I look up in excitement, "for real?"

"Yes, I promise, after the exams your relationship is none of my business."

"Deal!" I say excitedly.

When we arrive, we get out of the car and it starts raining.

Glad Camila's home, safe. Because after about half an hour, it starts to thunder. I hate thunders.

And when I'm about to go to sleep, my phone vibrates, it's Camila.

Camila: its thundering 😖
