My Tea Mate (CAMREN)

New Student

Just as I'm about to go to bed and refresh my brain for a brand new semester, someone texts me. Unexpectedly, it's Lucy.

Lucy: hey!

I narrow my eyebrows but text her back.

Me: hey Lucy!

Lucy: how are you?

Me: very good actually you?

Lucy: fine, im kinda sad

Sweet of her to come and talk to me.

Me: aww why?

Lucy: Im leaving my old school, leaving all my friends behind.

Me: aww omg idk how thats like, I've never transferred.

Lucy: me neither, thats why im so worried and scared.

Me: Which school?

Lucy: I forgot the name but I kinda can't wait because its near the mall and Starbucks and stuff.

Sounds really, really familiar.

Me: cool! I kinda need to sleep, I have school tmr :(

Lucy: k

Lucy: thanks for talking to me Laur.

Me: ur welcome Lucy, text me anytime :)

Well that was weird. I quickly go to bed and voila tmr it is.

God I am so not used to waking up this early, when my phone alarm rang I can barely open my eyes. But eventually I make it down to breakfast, where Chris is once again already eating. Taylor comes later and we all jump into our mom's car and she drives us.

When I enter my classroom, people are all gathered around talking about something. Oops wrong, someone. They are gathered around the new girl that didn't come yesterday.

As I break the circle to see who they are gathered around, I see a face I can never forget. Lucy.

"Lucy?" I ask as I stand in front of her.

"Lauren? Omg we are classmates!" she says.

Shit. I knew that description of her school was familiar.

Shawn then says to me, "you two know each other?"

"Yeah, we're friends." I say as I turn back around, leaving the circle of people.

Shawn follows me, "woah, why didn't you introduce her to me?" she looks back at her who is currently talking to someone else, "she's hot." he bites his lips, ugh.

"Shut up Shawn" I say, then turn to him, "I though you like Ally?"

"That's before summer, and when I told her I liked her, she says she has some other crush, so whatever." he says as he shrugs.

Since I want to leave the classroom anyway, I jump out the window to go check on Camila. I secretly peak into her classroom's window, she hasn't arrived yet.

I go along the corner and walk back to my classroom, then when I enter the hall, I see a familiar body figure coming towards me. Camila is here.

I jog over to her, waving, "hi Camila!"

She stays still and says hi back, "how are you?"

"Fine" I say as I think of the current new classmate situation.

Camila realizes my sudden change of face and tries to look me in the eyes, "why? why aren't you good? What's wrong?"

As she catches my eyes, I follow hers and slowly my head turns towards hers. I keep staring and she still has that worried look on her face, waiting for my answer. I don't even know how I look right now.

I think it's been 5 seconds and we are still looking into each others eyes. 3 seconds prove like, 5 must prove love!

"Lolo?" She says, I blink at the sound of my new nickname, huh. "Are you ok?"

"Huh?" I say, "Lolo" I whisper to myself, "yeah I'm fine, it's just we have a new student in our class that didn't come yesterday and she's really pretty."

"Oh my god Lauren! You scared the crap out of me!" she says with a sigh of relief, "I thought something serious happened, why you gotta play with my feelings like that?"

I think she got sensitive, "sorry Camila, it's just I knew her before here."

"It's ok, it was kind of a joke." she says with a cute little smile, then I sigh of relief, "Who? let me see!" she looks into my classroom, because we stopped here.

"The one girl that's been crowded around, her name is Lucy." I say secretly pointing, cause it's rude.

Shit she sees me.

"Uh oh, I think she saw me point at her" I say as I grab Camila to the side, "fuck" I whisper.

"Lauren? Chill, she's just a girl, what's with you today?" she says with a chuckle.

Then Lucy walks out of our classroom towards us.

"Hi!" she says with a wave towards us, mostly Camila.

"hey!" says Camila with her usual friendly smile.

I guess I should introduce them to each other.

"hey Lucy, this is Camila, my best friend from the other class." I pull Camila closer to me and put my arm around her shoulders. I turn to her face, "And this is Lucy, Camila." I say with my smile that she thinks is cute, because she blushes and turns away.

"Okay, umm it's nice to meet you Lucy, but I should be heading to my class now, bye!" Camila says as I let go of her. They wave to each other and as Camila passes me she whispers a "bye Lauren" to me, sweety.

"Bye!" I whisper to her too, trying very hard to hide my smile.

Then I turn back to Lucy, who I see changes her face from anger to fake nice, what the fuck.

"So! Have you made any friends yet? Since you said you would be scared." I say trying to forget about the thing that just happened with her face.

"No, people are talking to me, but no one seemed real and sincere, like you. You know what I mean?" she says tilting her head.

"Yeah, don't worry I'll always be in this class so if you need help and stuff just call." I say with a I guess kinda cute smile.

"Thanks, see now I'm not scared anymore because I already know you." she says returning the friendly smile.

Then our homeroom teacher comes and we scurry back inside. As she introduces Lucy as the new student, Lucy seems so shy and scared. So I clap and woo so loud when she is done, and everyone follows me. Lucy smiles at me, I smile back.
