It was late and I begged my parents to stay longer but they declined my request. We thanked the Vandervilles and walked our way home. I looked back and saw Derek from his window waving good bye. I waved back and he blew me a kiss.

I went upstairs saying goodnight to my parents and shut my door. I looked out the window and saw Derek through his window. I didn't even know there was an amazing guy living next to me. I couldn't have because of how depressed I was in my room everyday. I opened my window and hissed at him. He was drawing something on his sketchbook. I hissed louder making his head shoot up curious. He didnt look my way and went back to sketching. I hissed again.

"ppsst Derek." He shot his head up again and looked towards his window to see me. He smiled and put his sketchbook down. He walked closer and I watched while he opened his window.

"Hey." He said.

"Hi..So what were you drawing?" I asked curiously. His eyes lit up and he smiled wider.

"I was actually trying... Trying to draw you." He hesitated a little and I laughed at him. His cheeks turned pink.

"Out of all the things you can draw, you drew me." I said my cheeks turning to red while giggling.

"Yeah. And now that I got a better view. I can draw your beautiful face structure and admire everything about it." I blushed even more and then I heard a knock. I thought it was my parents but I remembered they had already said goodnight.

"I'll be right back ok?" I smiled at him and he got up and walked to his door. I sat there awkwardly and then saw his parents waving at me. I smiled widely and waved back. Derek closed his door and walked towards me. He smiled ear to ear and studiedy face. I stared at him.

"What are you doing?" I asked questioning.

"Capturing the beauty to draw upon my sketchbook." I laughed and so did he. He made me forget about everything around us. I stared into his hazel eyes looking at the softness he always had when he looked at me. Then I looked at his lips. They were perfectly shaped and I wanted to taste them. What was I saying I didnt want that with him. I saw him as a friend, a best friend.

"I actually have to go" He said with a sad face.Interrupting my thoughts. I have him a sad look.

"Oh no why?" I told him with a sad face.

He pouted his lips."I'm sorry. I want to stay up all night with you. But I guess I'll dream with you instead."

"Goodnight Derek." I said with a half smile.

"Goodnight Caroline." He smiled and got closer giving me a kiss on the cheek. He got back surprised he did that and stared down. I called his name and smiled. "Derek. I think I needed that."

I wasn't lying. I actually needed someone to show some affection towards me other than my parents. Someone new and different. I don't know if I just needed a friend or Derek. I closed my window followed by my curtains. I layed on my bed and quickly drifted off to sleep.

I woke up with a sour taste in my mouth. I got up and put my slippers walking towards my bathroom. I was glad I had a bathroom in my room. It just gave me assurance of the privacy I needed. I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste. I squished the paste to set it on my toothbrush and brushed my teeth. Up and down, side to side. I collected water in my cupped hands and rinsed my mouth, soon spating it out. I washed my face feeling the cold rage of water hitting my skin. I grabbed the towel and dryed my face on it. I walked to my closet and picked out an outfit for school. I really didn't care, I just put on jeans and a hoodie. I walked downstairs and grabbed an apple. Walking out the door, I took a big bite of my apple and went to open the car door. I put the keys in the ignition and started driving to school.
