Rip Hunter - Part 2

"Babe?" I looked up from the book I was reading and looked at Rip. He was standing over me, looking at me with pain in his eyes.
"What's wrong, Rip?" I asked.
"Um... It's about the other day... You know? When you got kidnapped..." Rip said.
"What about it?" I asked. "That was months ago."
"I know... But I feel really guilty. I wasn't there to protect you and I couldn't stop them." Rip said.
"But you saved me." I said. "I'm safe now, Rip. That's all that matters."
"But I feel like I let you down." Rip said.
"You didn't at all, Rip. You're wonderful and amazing. Don't doubt yourself or blame you for not stopping them." I said. "You couldn't have done anything, anyway. You'd either have gotten yourself killed, or been thrown into prison with me."
"I'd much rather be with you than be alone." Rip said.
"You weren't alone. You had the rest of the team." I stated.
"It's very different and unusual without you, babe. It's too hard to fathom..." Rip sighed. "I never want anything like that to happen again, so promise me you won't do that again."
"I'll try, Rip. But no promises. I can't control what they do." I said before kissing him.
"Anyway, we'd better get a move on. We need to find Savage before he kills my son and Miranda." Rip said.
"That's why we're on the ship, you know." I said. "Because of your son and wife."
"Miranda was my wife. They were my family, but I've got you." Rip said. "Even if this mission is saving them, I'd never abandon you."
"That's so sweet, Rip." I said and kissed his cheek.
"Guys, you can do all your love stuff later, Gideon thinks she's found a good time to attack Savage." We looked at the door and Sara was standing there.
"Alright." I said as we all left Rip's office and entered the Bridge, ready to hear what Gideon had to say.
