"Hello?" I called out.
I was in a dark, lonely room; no idea where I was. I was obviously knocked out and brought here, but I can't remember. I was kidnapped, I knew that for sure. Hopefully the team will be able to find me...
"Is anyone there?" I called out again, hoping to get someone... Anyone's attention.
"Ah, she's awake." I turned around. It was hard to see, considering I was tied up.
"Who are you?" I asked. The kidnapper turned on the light switch, blinding me for a minute as he or she stepped in my view. It was Damien Darhk.
"Darhk?" I asked.
"Young teenage Melissa." Darhk said.
"Marissa." I corrected him.
"Whatever." He replied.
"Why am I here? What use am I? Why do you want me?" I asked.
"Just as a trap." He said. "I'll torture you and make the Legends come. I'll grab the Spear fragment in replace for the life. That'll show Thawne that I'm not useless after all."
"You are useless!" I yelled.
He just stared at me before pressing a button on a control panel. Before I was able to process what that thing was connected to, I felt a mass load of pain shoot through my body. It was like an electric shock, but worse. At least I knew what it did.
"Did that hurt?" He asked, speaking to me like I was three years old.
"No." I replied. "Nothing will, as long as I'm alive."
"I'll have to kill you, then." He said and grabbed a knife from his pocket.
He was about to stab me when he got blasted back by something. I knew it wouldn't have been Thawne or Malcolm, they wouldn't have came to stop me being murdered. I looked at my rescuer, it was Ray.
"Ray?" I asked.
"Yes, that's me." Ray said. "We can discuss this later, but you need to get to safety. I don't want you being in anymore pain, considering I'm the one who helped you get yourself in this situation."
I was about to ask how it was possibly his fault, but he raced me out of the room and into the Waverider.
"Did you get her?" Sara asked.
"You tell me." Ray asked, showing me to the team.
"Thank God you're back!" Sara said, hugging me.
"Did they hurt you?" Nate asked.
"A little, but I'm fine." I replied. "Thanks for your concern, Nathaniel."
"It's my fault you were on any pain at all." Ray said.
"How?" I asked. He just shook his head and walked away, probably the his room or the library.
"What's up with him?" I asked the team.
"He blamed himself for you getting kidnapped." Mick said, stuffing himself with cakes.
"He said if he'd been keeping an eye out for you, like he said he would, you wouldn't have ended up there." Amaya explained.
"Wait, what? How is it possibly his fault?" I asked. "He didn't do anything."
"That's what we've been trying to tell him. It's Darhk's fault." Jax said.
"Dr Palmer seems to be blaming himself and shutting himself away from all of us." Stein added.
"I'm going to talk to him." I said then turned to Mick. "Don't steal my cupcakes."
"No promises, kid." Mick said as I began heading to the library.
"Gideon? Where's Ray?" I asked.
"In his bunker." Gideon replied.
"Thank you." I said and made my way to his bunker instead of the library. I knocked on his bedroom door as the door slid open. He was sitting on his bed, curled up in a ball, eating cereal.
"Ray? The team told me what you said." I told him and sat beside him. "It's not your fault at all. We all know that. You need to know that it defiantly wasn't your fault."
"I just feel so guilty. I was supposed to protect you and I failed because I wasn't paying attention. I just let you get knocked out and kidnapped by Damien Darhk." Ray said.
"I'm safe now, Ray. None of that matters. I just need to know that you'll remember none of this was your fault, okay?" I asked.
"Okay." He agreed as we shared a hug.
"Let's head to the Bridge. They made need our help." I said. Ray nodded as we released from the hug, before heading to the Bridge where the rest of the team were.
