The dreaded sound of the alarm clock rang through out my ears. I jumped down from the top of my bed and slid my slippers on. "Luke get up" I said as I put on my light pink sweater. "Luke" I said again. As I was walking towards the bathroom I kicked the end of Luke's legs. "Ugg" he said as he rolled over "You better be up by the time i'm done" I said as I walked into the bathroom.
I began to brush my teeth and wash my face. I applied very minimal makeup but just enough to look somewhat presentable. I took my hair out of the braid and had my long hair sway back and forth and the braid unraveled. I picked up my brush and groomed my hair from tips to root. I threw my head forward and gathered all of my hair. Twisted counterclockwise and put it in a messy bun.
I opened the bathroom door and the light shined into the room. As I walk out I see the sight of a sleeping Luke. "Luke" I said "what" he responded "Get up we have to leave in like twenty minutes" I said as I bent down to him. He looked up and me and put his hand on my knee. "We have to stop for coffee I won't remember anything that happens until I get some" He said smiling.
"Do you have all your stuff" I asked him "Ya you ready to go"he asked me "Ya just hold on" I said. I walked over to Brittany who was still sleeping. "Were leaving" I told her. "Merry Christmas Grace" Brittany said and she rolled around "Merry Christmas Brittany" I said as I grabbed my bags and walked out of the room.
We loaded our bags in the car and set off to the airport. Went through baggage claim, got patted down, and finally was able to go and wait for the plane. We sat in the waiting area with Luke half asleep on my shoulder and an empty coffee cup on the floor beside him. I heard the sound of every other flight being announced until I finally heard mine.
"Luke let's go our flight is here" I said nudging my shoulder "Okay let's go" he said getting his bag and pulling me up from my seat. We walked over to the gate and waited out turn to get onto the plane.
"Are you excited" I asked Luke "No I just remembered that flying on planes scare me" Luke said holding onto my hand "You'll be fine" I said to him. We walk thru the tunnel and onto the plane and we step on I place my hand on the plane as we walk in.
"Goodmorning Folks this is your caption Randy speaking thank's for flying southwest, seem's this morning's flight to Ohio will be nice and smooth so you don't need to worry about a thing, so enjoy the flight and we'll get you there nice and smooth" the caption said over the speaker.
As we walked thru the aisles we found our seat and put our stuff over head. Luke took the window seat and I took the seat next to him. "Don't be nervous, how do you think I got here" I said to him as I grabbed his hand "I'm not" he said squeezing back.
"So you did touch the plane before you go on right" I asked him "No was I supposed to" he asked. "Great Luke now we're all going to die" I said to him "why, what's going to happen, why do we touch the plane" he asked me panicking "God, Luke you touch the plane for good Luke thank's a lot" I said teasing him.
"Dammit, I need to go back" he said trying to get out of his seat "To late Luke" I said pushing him back down "No it's not" he said. "Were off the ground" I said pointing out the window "This is why I hate flying" Luke said "Calm down it's just a superstition thing we won't die" I said re assuring him "Oh good" He said relaxing in his seat "Probably" I said with a smile on my face.
"How are you doing" I asked Luke "Fine" he said still holding my hand. I layed my head on his shoulder and tried to fall asleep. I was excited to go and see my Dad but the closer I got the less excited I became. I loved Luke, god just saying that in my head is more crazy, but I felt nothing less. I was worried that when Luke saw my family that he would run for the hills but I guess I just have to wait and see.
"Luke wake up we're here" I said rubbing my hand on his knee. "We survived" he said. We gathered our things and walked off the plane and made our way to baggage claim. "Where do we get a rental?" Luke asked me "Over here" I said walking towards the rental place. We got our rental car, put the bag's in the trunk and drove off the lot.
"So this is where you grew up" Luke said "Ya, it's okay" I said looking out the window "Cheer up, we're going to spend Christmas together and i'm going to meet your family" Luke said "Yippee" I said rolling my eyes
