The next day we woke up around twelve in the afternoon by the sound of my dad ringing the doorbell. "Someone's at the door" Luke grumbled "Sure send the girl to answer the door" I got up and put on my glasses. "Hey dad" I greeted him as I opened the door "You do know what time it is right?" he asked "You do know what time parties end right" I said smiling at him.

"Luke get up" I yelled from the kitchen "So dad what brings you here" I opened the cupboards to grab a bagel "I have the thing you wanted" he slided me an envelope "Thank's dad" I smiled.

"Finally" I said as Luke slowly walked into the kitchen "I was starting to think you might have died" I laughed as I looked at my dad who was also laughing. "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed" I poked him on his right side making him jolt the the left "Come on Fig's it's too early" he groaned "it's one in the afternoon" I shouted.

He took a seat next to my dad on the counter "Here" I shoved a white envelope in front of him. "What's this" he asked " Consider it a graduation gift from my dad and I" I took a sip of my coffee. He looked at me and gave me the squinted eyes and he opened the envelope. "Tickets?" he questioned "To New York" he continued on.

I looked at my dad who was smiling and letting out a small chuckle. "Were going to New York next Wednesday" I said "It's time for you to confront your parents, you're not fighting me on this because everything is already planned, were coming back on Friday" I basically ordered. "Fine, if it's what you want" he said leaning over and giving me a kiss while giving my dad a side hug.

"Are you sure you have everything you need" Brittany asked over the phone "Yes, i'm coming back on Friday I don't need much" I barked. "So are you going to meet his parent's", "That's the plan", " Are you excited", " I mean i've never been to New York so, yeah" we both laughed. "Are you going to be okay for the trial tomorrow" I asked "Yeah I should be" she didn't seem to sure "Well i'm always just a phone call and a twh hour plane trip away", "Thank's, I have to get going but i'll see you when you get back", "Okay I'll see you on Friday", we then hung up the phone.

"Honey are you ready to go, the driver's here" Luke yelled. I zipped up my bag and grabbed my purse and headed down the stairs. "I'm here ready to go" I put my bag next to Luke's as I walked over to the thermostat and set the temperature, made sure all the doors were locked and all the light were off.

I locked the door as Luke took the bags out to the driver's car. "Hey i'm Luke, this is my girlfriend Grace" we both shook his hand "Hey i'm Matt, and i'm guessing we're going to the airport" he asked putting the bags in the trunk "That is correct" Luke answered.

We get into the car and took the long ride to the airport. When we got there Luke paid and tipped Matt and we then went thru security. We walked thru the airport and sat where our gate was. I was tired so I rested my head on Luke's shoulder as he placed a hand on my thigh. We waited and waited for the plane to start boarding, but then it turns out that there is a two hour delay due to air traffic.

We gathered our things and headed to the first restaurant we found since it was lunch time. We found a sandwich shop and began to order, I ordered a turkey club with avocado and Luke ordered a italian style sandwich.

After we finished our lunch we heard something over the intercom "Attention all passengers, flight five two seven, to Manhattan New York will be boarding in ten minutes" the lady hung up the line. We looked at each other got our things and walked to the gates.

I took a seat next to the window as Luke put our luggage in the overhead bin. He then sat down a buckled his seat belt, his leg was shaking up and down. I took his hand and placed it in mine interlocking our fingers "Everything's going to be fine, the plane will not crash" I smiled "So you're saying there's a chance" he looked at me with a straight serious face. I just rolled my eyes and looked out the window.

As the plane sped up and began to tilt upwards I felt Luke's hand squeezing mine tighter and tighter. "Luke if you squeeze any harder, I might not have a hand" I said "Sorry" he lightened up the grip.

Are you excited" I asked "I'm not sure, I don't know how my parents will react when I just randomly show up" he said. "There your parent's of course they're going to be happy to see you" I smiled as I put both of my hands around one of his. If only I knew I was about to eat my own words.
