Dave left us alone after the Daddy comment Colby made. Colby then got up off his chair and cuddled with me. He saw my eyes were red.
"What happened, Bug?"
I looked at him.
"I talked to Phil."
His expression went icy.
"How'd that go?"
"I told him to be happy with April."
I buried my face in Colby's shirt.
"You did what you thought was the right thing to do. I'm proud of you."
"I just wish I could've carried that baby."
The idea I failed at something made me want to curl up in a ball and cry. Colby lifted my head in his hands and kissed my nose.
"I love you." in a hushed tone was all I wanted to hear. He made me feel amazing no matter how bad I felt.
The next few days, I sat at home on conference calls looking forward to Axxess and Mania. The New Age Outlaws and Kane face my guys at Mania. I'm super stoked. I got to be in the Diva invitational, also a monumental moment for me. I worked hard to get back into shape for this. Without my main trainer, I settled on someone close to me...Sara. I couldn't have been more scared of this moment. That's when she said something to me that made me think.
"You're helping with the Warrior at HOF, right?"
"Yeah,"
"Well, He once was quoted saying 'Every man's heart one day beats it's final beat and if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others, it makes them bleed something larger than life. Then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized forever.' I think you should meet him."
I pretty much made myself a Warrior mark in that moment. I loved the man. I was the only girl in my teen years who rocked the paint on the farm in front of the guys. I'd spend time on the farm watching wrestling with my grandpa. I couldn't wait to tell Sara.
"I'd love to meet him."
"Fine then, come to the arena. He's coming to talk to Vince about the Hall of Fame."
I smiled and thought it would be a huge honor to meet him.
"Should I bring the girls with me?"
"Leave them here. This is business, Love."
I knew it was business. The week flew by like nothing and Saturday, Vince McMahon came to the arena. I stood in awe of the man who created the business I, along with everyone else, loved. He sat all of us down and introduced all the Hall of Famers for 2014. It was there I saw Amy. She waved to me.
"How'd training go?"
"It's going awesome."
"That's good."
Neither of us brought Phil into the conversation. I refused to and she had other things to think of, like stories to tell at her induction. She did, however, ask me something.
"I remember you being pregnant the last time we spoke. Do you have pictures of the baby?"
"Babies and yes."
"You had twins, huh. That's awesome. What are their names?"
"Elena and Niella."
"Spanish girls huh?"
"Yeah,"
I showed Amy the pictures of the girls and we talked for a few more minutes. Then in walked a silver haired man in jeans and a black t-shirt. I knew automatically it was the Warrior
Vince and Paul shook his hand.
"Now that everyone is here that we need, we can begin."
Nervous didn't cover how I felt. As Vince explained about how the valeting for the male Hall of Famers worked, I sat mesmerized. After the hour meeting, Stephanie walked me over to the man I was helping.
"Jim, this is Lindsay. She's going to help Indy and Maddie."
I stood starstruck.
"Hello, Mister Warrior, Sir..."
He smiled.
"Hello."
'It's such an honor to meet you, Sir."
"I am honored to meet you as well. You don't look old enough to be a little warrior."
"Oh, I am thanks in part to my grandfather. He showed me your matches. You were one reason I got into this industry."
"Well, that's truly an honor."
"I'm humbled to be helping your daughters with this."
"Do you have children, Lindsay?"
"Yes, I do. Twin girls."
"Is that what you were showing Amy?"
"Yes, it is."
"Could I see?"
I took out my phone and swiped to the picture of the girls, Colby and I.
"Who is the young man?"
"My husband, Colby."
"He looks familiar."
"He's Seth Rollins of the Shield."
"I see. He definitely looks like a young Paul Roma."
I smiled.
"He's my hero."
"I'd love to talk to you and your husband about it with my wife sometime."
"I'd enjoy that."
He smiled and kissed my cheek before meeting once more with Vince and Paul. I stood there for a minute in awe. Hearing a chant of "THIS IS AWESOME!" in my head didn't help anything. a short time later, I talked to Sara.
"Did you get to meet him?"
"I did."
"How was it?"
"I won't ever be the same again, Sara."
"That's why I picked you to do this."
The week flew like nothing. One night, I got a call from a woman."Is this Lindsay Rollins?"
"Technically Lopez, but yes, what can I do for you?"
"My name is Dana Hellwig. I'm Jim's wife."
I almost went bat shit crazy. The Warrior's wife is talking to me!
"Hello," I said.
"How are you?"
"I'm doing fantastic. My girls are sleeping so I'm cleaning. How're you?"
"I remember those days. How old are they?"
"Almost eleven months old."
"They're cute at that age. Be warned it's worse when they're grown."
I laughed.
"I'm calling to see if you wanted to do lunch with me. I would love to introduce you to the girls and then we could maybe go shopping?"
"That would be tremendous. My girls are doing a Daddy day today. He took them already."
"That's so cool. We'll pick you up in an hour."
"Awesome, I'll see you then."
I went to shower and put on my "BELIEVE IN THE SHIELD" shirt and a pair of black jeans before putting on a pair of Nikes. I saw her car pull up with her daughters in the backseat.
"Hi, Lindsay, I'm Dana and those are Indy and Maddie."
"Hi. It's amazing to meet you all."
We took off to the mall in rapid fashion. I, recovering from my surgery, needed to be back at the arena before the show started at six. I was on camera but not competing. We went looking at fancy places as Dana and I talked.
"What made them pick you to help us?"
"I've always been a fan of your husband. My grandfather was a huge as they come wrestling fan. I just wish my grandpa would've met him."
"Where is your grandpa?"
"He died while I was training in Florida."
"I'm sorry, where is your grandmother?"
"Died shortly after my grandpa. They raised me."
"I'm sorry."
"I'm living the dream and they encouraged me so I wouldn't have made it without them."
We kept talking as I saw her girls come out wearing stunning dresses.
"They look beautiful, Dana."
"Thanks."
I stood there amazed at the interaction between Dana and her daughters.
