Chapter Forty Four

As I stood at Gorilla ready to announce the main event of the night, My daughters and nieces were in the back. I prayed for Candy having to control 2 babies, a pre schooler and a teenager.

"You tall." Maya says to Maxie.

"I'm older than you are."

"What's old?" Maya asks.

"I'm not little."

"Were you ever little?" Maya asks.

"I was a long time ago."

"How old are you?" Candace asked.

"I'm sixteen, ma'am."

Candace laughed.

"Ma'am...I'm only 21 myself. I'm no ma'am. Call me Candy."

Maxie smiled.

"I'm glad my mom let me hang in the back with you."

"Bet your mom's somewhere watching."

"Yeah, I'm just glad I'm here with all of you. This business interests me but if I had a choice, I'd do something else."

Candace looked at Maxie.

"You do whatever you feel like. Let no one stop you."

Maxie smiled.

"I wish my mom saw it that way."

"She will."

I was getting ready in wardrobe. I wasn't wearing anything glamorous. I picked a white sundress to show off my legs with some white heels. I put it on and smiled, walking toward hair and makeup. Simple looking makeup and my hair in a French twist. I look professional and made my way to the ring. Walking past me, Nick did a double take.

"Damn, you always look so good."

I blushed. I always do when someone compliments me. That's when I heard a voice.

"Dude, keep moving. She's married. Move it."

"Dude, would you chillax? I can't pay a woman a compliment."

"She's married, dumb fuck."

I didn't bother to turn around this time. I knew who it was.

"Randy, stop."

"He's goin all googly eyed and shit. He needs to move or I'm gonna be late for my promo."

"Sorry, Nick."

Nick winked at me and kissed my cheek. Shocked, I ran to Gorilla.

Maxie's cell phone rang.

"How's it going with your cousins?"

"Hey, Dad! It's awesome. They're definitely cute. I'd take a selfie and post it on facebook but I don't want mom to go spaz on me."

"She knows you're back there so go ahead and take it."

"Grandma won't say anything, will she?"

"No. Your grandma knew where you were tonight."

"All right. I love you, Dad."

"I love you too, Peanut."

"Max! I wanna play with you!" Maya said.

"I gotta go. My shadow is calling me."

"Have fun."

"I will."

Maxie ended the call and ran back to Maya.

I walked to the ring wearing my glasses and entered the ring.

'Hello, to my hometown of Omaha!!" I said through the mic.

I heard the crowd cheering me with the exception of a few boos.

"Tonight, we have an amazing show!"

I heard Alicia Fox's music. I sighed.

"Here we go." I said into the mic.

Alicia came down to the ring.

"I saw what you did to Aksana."

"Oh yeah, Whatcha think?"

"I dare you to try with me."

"You want me to kick your nose into your head too?"

"I'd like to see you try."

"I'm here on the wishes of the Authority. I've been told you're in a match too, Miss Fox."

She looked at me stunned. Smiling, I looked at her.

"Your opponent tonight will be announced later. Right now, I need to get back to the office. Thanks everyone for coming out and hope I hear applause."

I smiled leaving and Alicia grabbed my hair.

"Bitch, you're going down later."

I felt her hand on my hair and placed her in a tight arm bar.

"No one calls me a bitch."

I lifted her over my head and gave her a GTS.

"Good Night, Miss Fox."

I exited the ring and walked up the ramp. I returned to the back there I saw Sara and JBL talking.

"You still look the same as when we first met."

"John, that's very sweet of you. Aren't you married?"

"She would never know."

"You're a creep."

"I'm a hot blooded male who works around here and has needs my wife can't fulfill."

"You're not right."

Sara looked at him.

"Don't talk to me again. Merry is a friend of mine and I'd rather not hurt her."

She walked away and saw me standing there.

"What did you see?"

"Everything, I'm proud of you."

"I saw your GTS. Phil would be proud of you."

"I don't know."

"Let's get back to the girls."

Sara walked with back to my dressing room. Once we arrived, I checked my IPad.

"You have 2 new messages."

I opened it. You could guess who it was.

"Lindsay, you executed that GTS perfectly. I'm proud of you. Keep it up! I'll be back before you know it."

I smiled slightly. Phil could cheer me up but confuse me to a very large degree. I saw the next message.

"Lindsay, you need to stop this. Your health isn't worth this career."

I almost burst into tears knowing my own father wanted me to give up my dream.
