3rd Person P.O.V

December 23, 2018

Tomorrow would be Christmas Eve. Juliene decided that Sungjin, Wonpil, Jae, Dowoon, and her Aunt Aki will celebrate the occasion in their apartment. Brian couldn't come since he went to Canada last week, so they decided that during the occasion, they would do a video call with him and celebrate together.

Juliene, Jae, Wonpil, Dowoon, and Aki went out in the evening to buy groceries. Sungjin said he would be late since he still had things to settle in university.

The five of them agreed that they should split into groups in buying the groceries so that it would save time. Dowoon went with Aki and Juliene went with the two. They would meet in the cashier section when they're done.

Wonpil got a text from Sungjin when the three of them went to the pasta aisle. He stopped as he read the text. Jae bumped into him. Jae frowned for a second, but he realized that Wonpil was reading a text. He peeked from Wonpil's shoulder.

"Huh?" Jae asked as he read the text. Wonpil looked behind him. He was expecting Juliene to be there but she was not. He frowned.

"Where's she?" He asked.

"She's probably on the other side." Jae answered and ran to the other side. Juliene wasn't there. He went back to the previous aisle. She was also not there. He looked around him. Thanks to his 6'0" height, it was easy for him to search through the crowd. However, there were many people in the supermarket. Dozens of unfamiliar faces come and go from the entrance and exit and he couldn't find a black-haired girl in an orange jacket. "Shit!" Jae cursed and returned to Wonpil. "I can't find her."

"Maybe she's with Aunt Aki." Wonpil said. "I go north, you go south. Meet me in the west wing."

Jae nodded and the two of them went to their separate ways.

None of them knew that Juliene forgot her wallet in their apartment. Before the three of them enter the supermarket, she realized that her wallet was not with her. She was about to tell it to Jae and Wonpil but they already disappeared from her sight. She brought her phone out and was about to text Jae but she realized that she had no load. She sighed in annoyance. Their budget was in her wallet, so she was forced to go home.

She entered the apartment building. The lobby was quiet as usual, but she noticed that as soon as the receptionist saw her, the receptionist tensed up. Juliene ignored her reaction and smiled at her. She went inside the elevator, and when the elevator doors were closing, she saw the receptionist running towards her and yelled "Wait!" but she didn't catch up. Juliene tilted her head in confusion.

"What's with that?" She asked herself. She looked at her bag behind her and touched her pockets. "I didn't drop anything, did I?" She shrugged. "I'll just talk to her later."

The elevator stopped on the sixth floor. She headed towards their apartment while searching for her keys in her bag. She inserted the key in the door knob, but she realized that the door wasn't locked. She frowned and clicked her tongue. "He forgot again." She hissed, thinking that Sungjin still didn't fix his habit about forgetting to lock the door when he's inside.

When she opened the door, the corridor that connects the door to the living room was dark. The only source of light came from the lamp in the living room. Then, she heard suppressed grunts and faint voices, which were also coming from the living room. She slowly stepped inside and slowly closed the door. As she walked towards the living room, the sounds were becoming clearer and louder. Her heart began to beat fast and her hands started to sweat. Then, she heard a loud thud, followed by a muffled, painful scream.
