3rd Person P.O.V
December 24, 2018
Brian got out of the shower. He wrapped a towel around his waist and took another towel to dry his blonde hair. He proceeded to his room, sat on the bed, and took his phone that was buried under his pillow.
He stared at his lock screen. As water dripped from the strands of his hair, he caressed his phone's screen, tracing the face of a girl whose smile brought colors to his dull, boring life. She was hugging a colossal titan stuff toy as she smiled from ear to ear. Her wavy, pitch black hair fell beautifully on her shoulders, and her tan skin glowed in her crimson hoodie.
He took this picture when he walked her home after their shift in the laundry shop. He saw an anime store as they walked. He knew that she loved watching anime, so he grabbed her hand and ran towards the store. He couldn't forget how her eyes sparkled when they entered. She fangirled so hard when they went to the manga section. It even doubled when we went to the stuff toy section. All the words she said couldn't be understood because it was mixed with squeals and Korean and Japanese words. He took candid pictures of her and as far as he could remember, those pictures were still in his phone.
And then, she found that colossal titan stuff toy that "melted" her heart to the point that she wanted to cry because it was "so cute." That's when she asked him to take a picture of her while hugging the stuff toy.
Brian couldn't help but smile. Those were the good old days he had with her, and that was two years ago.
He looked at the time on his phone. 9:55 am. Five more minutes, and this girl, together with his friends, would call him to celebrate Christmas Eve. Since his parents wanted him to visit Canada, he had no choice but to obey. Thus, he couldn't celebrate Christmas and New Year with them in South Korea.
He lay on his bed and stared at the ceiling.
"I miss her." He mumbled. He looked at his phone again, but he put his phone away and closed his eyes. "I can't." He mumbled again. "Why are you doing this, Kang Younghyun?"
He was guilty.
He was guilty because he fell in love.
He sighed, but his eyes still remained close.
"I was the one who saw her first," he whispered, and clicked his tongue. He kept saying this to himself, but he couldn't do anything because he knew that she didn't choose him. Even though he was the one who saw her first, she chose someone else.
Of all people, she chose his best friend, Park Sungjin.
Later, at 11 am, it would be Christmas in South Korea.
Later, at 11 am, it would be their first anniversary.
