I could feel my wolf urging me to shift but I pushed him back. 'No!' I thought to myself. We expected this. As soon as mates meet they form a bond, I know her... as much as she hates me I know how she'll act. I'd prepared for this. I watched the door click shut and shot my deadliest look at the two rogues she was bought in with.
"If you even think about opening that cage I will leave you to the hunters" I shot
"Can't be worse that what you'll do to us" The oldest one shot back, standing up as he spoke.
"Oh, it can. They'll poison the air first with wolfs-bane so you're weaker, then they'll use a tranquiliser filled with the poison to knock you out. They'll take you in their prison-style van to a remote location where they'll either do tests on you or just shoot you because you put up too much of a fight. I at least have the decency to bury you, they'll just burn your body and dump you outside" I say, trying to keep my voice calm at the memories
"YOU! TALKING ABOUT DECENCY? YOU JUST MARKED MY FRIEND WHEN SHE WAS UNWILLING AND WITHOUT EVEN TELLING HER YOUR NAME!" He shouted. The sudden outburst took me aback
"My name. My name would hurt her even more than the bite did." I sneered, feeling my eyes get swallowed with darkness. My wolf was trying to gain control, "You really want to know?" I asked, a cold sadistic tone thick in my voice "I'm Jasper. The Alpha of the Blue Mark Pack!" I snarl before heading for the door to find my mate.

I look to the guards outside the door who point in the direction she ran. I gave specific orders not to touch her. I followed in the direction, her scent becoming stronger with every step. Then another scent... a male. MY BETA! I start running, the one person I made sure stayed away from her now mixed his scent with hers. I turn the corner and growl at the sight. My beta is holding my mate's hair and dragging her along the corridor.
"You've been a bad, bad girl, haven't you?" I hear him laugh, I growl again. Anger making my body tremble
"STEFAN!" I roar "PUT MY MATE DOWN!" He turns around, a look of pure terror on his face.
"Ja-Jasper. I-I was just teaching h-her a lesson not to run away, I th-"
"YOU THOUGHT WRONG! Put her down right now!" I snarled trying to calm my wolf down. Jasper released my mate and backs away from her. I shot him a look that made him turn around and run down the corridor. I waited until I heard the familiar click of the door shutting and then I approached her. She was lying on a heap on the floor. When she heard me approach she looked up before pushing herself against the wall and curling up into a small ball. She whimpered as I knelt down in front of her, as I reached my hand up to tuck her hair behind her ear, like they do in romantic movies, she pulled back away from me, staring at my hand like it was made of silver. It normally wouldn't upset me to see someone scared of me, but with her it was different - it felt wrong to see her cowering, scared of my touch. "I-I'm sorry..." I say as I stand up and begin to walk away.
"Clara." She says. I turn around and stare at her, "My name. It's Clara." she clarifies. I smile,
"Jasper." I nod and turn away. I address the first guard I see "Take her to the guest room next to mine. Make sure she's comfortable and no one see's her. Not yet, anyway." The guard nods and goes back in her direction to carry out my orders.
"Miss, I'm here to take you to your room." Is all I hear before the door shuts behind me and I'm out in front of the pack house.
"STEFAN!" I call trying to sound as friendly as possible. A small figure walks out from behind a tree
"S-sorry Alpha... I was trying to help you." He says in a small voice
"I understand. You were just trying to protect your Alpha. But if you ever disobey my orders again, or touch my mate, I will be less inclined to be generous with my forgiveness" I say. Stefan gives a small nod and I smile. I pull him in for a hug and ruffle his hair. However mad I am at him, he's still my oldest friend. He knows everything, why I'm so cruel, how I became Alpha... Everything.
