I looked at the group of smiling strangers that stood in front of me. Emily walked towards me, smiling, and took my arm. She lead me towards the group that held Andrew.
"Andrew, Mara meet Mya. Jasper's mate."
"We've already met but I believe it's time we were introduced properly. I'm Jasper's father" Andrew says smiling and pulling me in for a hug.
"Hello." a woman stepped forward "I'm Mara, Jasper's mother." She shared the same smiley persona as her mate. How could two so nice people produce the monster I was mated with. Before I had time to think Emily tugged me along to the other family.
"Mya. I'd like you to meet my family. You've already met Stefan so this is Delilah and Dylan, my mother and father." She said, a giddy smile on her face. They each introduced themselves and we sat down. I was next to Jasper and his mother, Emily sat opposite me with her family beside her. I felt out of place. They were all close and joking - except Jasper. God it took lots to make that man smile. They ate lots, werewolves were renowned for eating more than a normal human diet would allow. I watched them all devoir heaped plates whilst I chased pieces of melon around a plate. Jasper leaned in to my ear and whispered:
"Why aren't you eating? You need to keep your wolf healthy." I smothered a sarcastic laugh. Now he's concerned for my wellbeing, not when he was effectively raping me.
"I'm not hungry." I said, trying to supress the harsh way I cut off the words. His brow furrowed in 'concern' – if you can call it that. It was pathetic that he thought I was opening up to him. Little does he know I plan on leaving this dreaded pack – their alpha and all – before evening tomorrow. I planned it all last night, telling him I need to shift and let my wolf run and then disappearing into the woods. He's done nothing to make me want to stay in this pack with him so why should I? The benefit of being in an Alpha family means my wolf is fast. Females aren't meant to be Alpha's, they're meant to be Luna's, but the powerful blood still gives them benefits; Longer and stronger legs for the females, bigger wolves in general for the males to help them fight. This will benefit me, I can outrun every wolf I've come across easily. This Alpha may be harder but not impossible. Tomorrow I'm leaving this place and never coming back.

I go to bed that night, pleased with the final preparations I made for tomorrow. I picked out the most versatile clothes in the cupboard to wear, thick black jeans, a plain white top, black and red checked flannel and a thick red hoodie. The weather was cold recently so I would leave with a warm blue coat and timberlands. This was the best I could do, it would be too suspicious taking a massive bag with me. I decided to take a mountain bag to put the clothes in before I shift, normal for wolves that don't want to rip their clothes, and I put some jewellery in it so I could sell them for money. I'll get more essentials when I'm as far from here as possible. Feeling content with my preparations I let myself drift into a deep slumber.

I wake up to Emily's familiar, loud knock at the door. Without waiting for my answer she runs in and begins jumping on my bed
"WAKE UP!" She shouts with a childlike grin on her face
"I'm awake." I half groan, half laugh as I kick her off my bed
"Oh." She says, her voice momentarily serious, before she begins giggling again, "Jasper wants to see you, but then we can have some fun!" She says, finally stepping down off my bed
"Where is he?" I ask
"I'm here." He calls from beside the door. I should have sensed him but my senses aren't as acute as they should be, I haven't shifted recently enough for them to be working well.
"I'll leave you two alone!" Emily adds as she heads to the door.
"What's wrong with you recently? You didn't eat a thing at breakfast." He asks, his voice serious and concerned
"I wasn't hungry." I state, bluntly, turning away from him.
"You haven't been hungry for the past 3 days. Is something wrong?" His brow furrows as he speaks. This is a perfect opportunity to ask him if I can go for a run
"I need to shift. I haven't shifted in days. Maybe then I'll be up to eating more." I state, narrowing my eyes as he walks closer to me
"I agree. I've yet to see your wolf; I know you've seen mine..." He trails off, clearly referencing the incident a few days ago. He leaves me to get dressed; I get into my planned outfit and grab the bag. He stares at it as I leave my room but doesn't question it. We leave the house and I stand there, astounded at the beautiful grounds around the Tudor-style mansion. I know I'd already seen outside but it was dark and I was too focussed on the fight to take much notice. I followed Jasper as he walked towards a large shed and steps behind it. "You can change and shift here, I'll be over there." He says, indicating to the other shed a distance away. I do as he instructed and shift into my Auburn wolf. My white paws padded softly on the ground as I walked to the shed Jasper was at. Before I reached it, Jasper emerged as his black wolf. He stared at me for a while as I just stood there with a bag between my teeth.
'You can leave the bag here' He suggested through the mind link we shared. Oh crap! I need to keep my bag with me.
'It's okay. I prefer to hold it myself.' I argue. I can tell he's suspicious but he doesn't voice it.
We begin to run. I follow Jasper, still unsure of the surroundings. We ran past a strangely familiar cabin. It took me a few miles to realise why it was so familiar; it was the one we were sleeping in when Jasper found us. I slow down gradually, letting Jasper run ahead. I wait until he's a generous distance away from me before I turn and run in the direction of the cabin. When I reached it I looked back – he hadn't followed me. I ran in the direction we had come when we found the cabin, continuing until I found the familiar woods we had been living in for a few weeks before we were found. I slowed my run to a jog and finally came to a stop just inside the woods. I stood behind a thick tree and, after checking for anyone else in close proximity, I shifted and changed back into my clothes. I threw the backpack on and started jogging away from anywhere my scent was. 'I have gotten away from him' I think to myself, grinning. Not paying attention where I was going I finally stopped when I heard leaves cracking behind me.
"Clara." A male voice growled. Oh crap! I think, turning around and staring at the familiar face.

Oh No! Has Mya been caught?
FYI, in this book, werewolves only have heightened senses when they've shifted within a month, they begin to dull and they're ageing goes back to normal speed. Usually a wolf can live to over 300 years – they still count in human years. Once again, thank you!
