For the next few days Emily would come and visit me. We would laugh and talk, she even taught me how to use the makeup Jasper had provided me with. Then, when it was evening and Emily had left, Jasper would come in.
---
"Good evening, Clara." He said, putting up a gentlemen-ly act on.
"Jasper." I addressed
"Would you like to join me for a meal?" He enquired, as he did every night
"No." I replied, as usual
"Shall I bring it up here then?" He pushed
"Fine." This was his que to poke his head outside and order for a tray of food to be bought up. "What is it you want today?"
"Nothing." I looked at him inquisitively "What? Is there something wrong with me wanting to visit my mate."
"Not usually, but when he doesn't let his mate leave her room after kidnapping her and her friends then there's some cause for concern." I snapped. His whole 'Nice' charade was getting old. News of his kill-count reached far, even into the rogue community.
"And I apologised for that. I just want to get to know you, as you so politely pointed out, we don't know each other yet." He said with a thick note of sarcasm
"I recall a conversation along those lines. But it doesn't mean I have to be nice to you. You have done nothing to deserve that." I spoke while shooting him the deadliest glare I could. I probably looked demented; My fears were concerned when he chuckled under his breath
"Your feisty. And you've got a smart mouth. I have to say, I thought the moon Goddess had completely lost it when it turned out you were my mate... But it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel after all."
"No chance I hell!" I growled, staring at his sick smile. He growled back, clearly angered with my defiance - good! A knock at the door saved us from - yet another - fight. I walked over but a warm hand caught mine and pulled me back. "Get off me!" I snarled through my teeth but he just smiled and pulled me behind him. He opened the door himself and bought the tray of warm food in himself. The aroma filled the room and I gagged.
"What's wrong?" He asked, his brow furrowed and a genuine look of concern flashed across his face
"The food. Get it out." I say, hand over mouth. Without a second thought he opens the door and shoves it into the guards chest
"Stay there." He snaps at the guard before turning back to me, "You haven't eaten in days. I'm not going to have to force you, am I?" He laughs coldly.
"Not my fault the food you give me makes me feel sick." I glare. He turns pulling out his phone and steps out onto the small balcony at the back of my room. He speaks into the phone too quiet for me to hear. He walks back into the room, smirking to himself. I raise and eyebrow but he stays quiet.
---
We sat in silence until a knock at the door rings out into the room. I stay seated, knowing that any attempt to open the door myself would be futile. Jasper opens it and walks in with a familiar box. Pizza.
"You said the food I provided made you ill so I bought something everyone enjoys." He exclaims, grinning. He was showing a different side to himself recently... but I'm sure it's just a face he's put on to make me forgive him.
"What if I told you I'm allergic to gluten?" I quiz. His eyes widen and his face drops. I start laughing! His face is comical. He sighs, smiling with me. He pulls out some plates from underneath and opens up the box so the smell of grease and cheese fills the room.
